Club Sadowsky!!!

Hey guys...

I'm currently selling a lot of stuff and saving to try to add a metro jazz 5 into my arsenal. That and the avalon pre/DI I'm getting should give me some tonal bliss.

How's the used market for Sadowsky basses? I see them occasionally on the classifieds but not with any real regularity... anything I should check out (I'm assuming no, because I've played one or two and couldn't imagine much ever going wrong with one)?

A mint MS/MV 5 should run you $1700-2000 and they pop up on aBay from time to time and there is almost always a couple available in the classifieds here.

My only advice would be to keep it 100% stock. Tuners, preamp, pickups, etc. are all amazing and there is no reason to modify a Sadowsky IMO.

Adding a VTC doesn't hurt! Or Sadowsky Single Coils either!

My MS5 also has both. I'd at least go for the VTC and the SC's sound great but I imagine the hum-cancelling pu's do also.

Speaking of mod's, I just had a custom pickguard made for my MS5. It came with a clear half-guard so now I can switch back and forth for a bit of variety. The new one uses the same screw holes as the original. As soon as I get my hands on a camera I will post pic's.

Hi

Here's my 24fret 4. Its a new model for them. Ive had mine since late last summer but was under gag order. LOL. Its an unbelievable piece. Only 7.35lbs. Expertly assembled. Action is on the board. The big singles kill. Ash body, totally yummy.

I was in Sadowsky a week ago. The PJ was marked not to be played. I played the others and I really didn't love the tone of the big singles, although the instrument played beautifully.

I wish I could have got my hands on the PJ...

I preffered #4982 to all others in stock at the time..

They are great...unfortunately American Fenders are what I can afford these days..those will have to do for now....but it is nice to look at these beauties

Dare I say it in the Sacred thread????:hiding:

I went out and bought a New American Standard JAzz V two days after visiting Sadowsky. Price was not the deciding factor.

I know I'll go crawl back into my hole!:rollno:
