It shouldn't. But if he wired the blend pot himself, it makes a difference where the ground tap comes off, and that can matter.

Dude, why adjust to this, when it's a TRIVIAL change. Seriously... you should have it the way you're most comfortable with it! Just run it back over to him and he should literally be able to make this change in a few minutes. It's literally just pop two wires off, reverse, and re-solder. Badda bing, badda boom. Done. :)

I'm leaning towards this actually. Just going to wait until I get some Barts in to replace these Lane Poors, which despite their acclaim do NOT sound good to my ears.

LP's are good at what they do, but I'm not necessarily a fan. The LP's I've heard sound a bit too open/airy to me, and lacking a mid punch factor I look for.

That's odd I always hear nice strong balanced mids in LPs. Soaps in my old quantum and MM in my new Flea 5. Clear top and tight bottom, but always nice and rich through the middle. Like I said on that other thread, I don't think the sadowksy is the right pre in that bass. I tried my outboard with my old Q5 a few times and it just did nothing for that bass. But if you want more low mids and less highs some barts will give you that. You can probably get good money for the LPs.

Having the pre onboard in the bass is completely different sounding than running a Q5 with an onboard Bart pre into a Sad outboard pre, IME. Especially when you consider the VTC. It sounds GREAT in this Modulus and I'm working on getting clips up.

What else besides fb radius differs between your two Sadowskys? If the strings aren't the same, that could easily be the cause... f'r instance there's a big difference in feel between black labels and blue labels. You could also check the setups: string height, pickup height, neck relief.

Just curious. I agree that trying different playing positions is probably the way to go.

Same strings, same gauge (DR Sunbeams, Lights). The setup may be a part of it- I've had trouble getting the action as low as I'd like without the E string buzzing. I might have it professionally set up and see if it helps.
