Installing these today in my Will Lee.
HC Pickups - 500K Volume Pot
This should get this bass closer to sounding like my Standard 4.
I like the SCs but I kept wanting to hear more top end. I was using my amp to get it.
For my tone goals I really like the HC pups in the 4 bangers!

I just picked up my new UV 5 string at my friend's.
I had it shipped to him as I was on vacation.

I just could pluck it briefly as I broke my left arm on my last gig (but luckily no Sadowsky bass was hurt).

I'd imagine that it sounds very much like my 25th Anniversary 24F 5. Compared to an ash/maple 24F 5 with a similar ebony board, my mahogany/koa/ebony 24F 5 is a bit more full down low and a bit "bigger" sounding, but with a very similar upper midrange and high end.
Edit: I just noticed that the pickup positions on 4612 are in the J-bass positions, so my analogy may be less on point, but I do stand by the idea of mahogany adding a bit of low to low-mid fullness but still staying fairly neutral and open up top.

For mine, the SCs are ideal. And dead quiet, even under stage lights for some reason. Please let me know if the SCs are expendable. I have my eye on something they could improve.
