Yeah. I still prefer the lopsided Fender pup's look... but let's face it, nobody sitting in the audience (or playing guitar) would notice either way...

Another clip of my Sadowsky NYC Vintage 5 ash/maple with singles through a few micro heads and the Bergantino HT112ER, for anyone interested:) I love this bass. Strings are broken in Sadowsky Blue Label SS.

The bass Will's playing is HOT! Love the Black / RW and Blocks! The playing's not too bad either! :)

I noticed this as well - when I built mine, blocks weren't an option, so I wonder if Will's bass is just a one-off or if blocks might be become available more broadly? I'm certainly no Will Lee, but would love a WL with blocks...

On another note - any ideas what rig Will uses and how he might EQ to get this type of tone? He sounds awesome!

Blocks/no binding is now an option on NYC basses.

Ken, another great little demo. Thank you for doing these.

The only problem I have is if I turn it up enough to hear what you are saying then the bass BLASTS me out.

My little recorder is pretty limited, so it kind of 'is what it is'. The good news is, through a decent playback system, it really does a good job of capturing the live sound I'm hearing from the rig. I always place the mic back a ways and slightly off axis to attempt to generate a kind of 'real live tone' of the rig and bass, even though it is in a solo situation.

I sure understand the logistics of it. ;) Yes the little recorder does do a fine job. I do think that your Sadowsky is a major player in the whole process.

A wireless mic might be the way to go since you are having fun making the demos.

Nah, even lower tech than that would be fine. Just set up another small amp nearby with a plain old wired mic attached to it and use it as a way to amplify his voice without messing with what he's demoing. :)

Will's website says that he uses a Samson wireless through Hartke cabinet for live use.
