i've sworn off anything other than black, oly white, and sunburst, but the something about lpb and a tort guard.
YEAH!!My bass finally shipped and on the way to Hong Kong from NYC!! Best Bday & Christmas gift ever!!! Too bad it can't arrive before weekend based on tracking info.

Like I told you on FB. I am so jealous. I cant imagine why I failed to have a picture made of Roger and my Bass. You have an awesome Bass. Cant wait til you get it.

Every time someone posts a photo of their build, I ALWAYS think "I'd like to have one like that."
This one kind of makes me think that I would REALLY, REALLY like to have one like that! That exact combo in an M24-5 would be the sha- nizzle.
As for the photo, RS had to be one of the most gracious guys in the business. That's just too cool.
Of course if Roger shows up in the box with the bass, please ship him back after you've had lunch and a chat. There are lots of guys waiting on basses.
Somebody just posted this on FB. They took it at a rehearsal. It may be the only bass I like better than my Sadowskys!!! Plus, it's a decent "what does chasarms look like shot." It can also serve as as "find the Sadowsky" photo if you are too bored with it.

If I could have just picked what I wanted, this was the bass, I realized I could have had it built as a Metro, but didn't want to wait and then the next day saw the sunburst one i have now on eBay.

Shen is one of, if not the, top Chinese builders. I believe that he studied in the Kolstein shop before returning to China to open his shop. It is nothing like some of the factory stuff that comes from over there. It's a shop bass.
Nick Lloyd did the set up. It's right, for sure.
About three years ago, I was seriously considering upgrading to a New Standard La Scala, but after trying one I could not justify the additional cost. It's that nice.
I've done a few little tweaks. I had a KC Strings endpin installed. And, Mike Pecanic made me that Claro walnut compensated tail piece. When o put that on, I also went with an ultralight synth tail gut.
I love it. I've played everywhere from BG fests, to Sheldon Concert Hall to the community orchestras. I always get great feedback.

My Metro Will Lee 4, candy apple red with morado fingerboard came in yesterday.
I only played it about an hour last night, as my mom fell and broke her hip yesterday.
The short review. WOW! This is a great bass. After owning 3 NYC's, I can't believe how nice the Metro is! I am really blown away. The mid boost circuit is great.
