I have to agree with Obrad... the quality that Sandberg produces, especially given the features that you get, are only comparable to Fender Custom Shop.

You should try before you buy. The Sandberg fretboard radius is quite flat, and may not be your thing.

I do not know why, but in last few month I'm also considering trying a Japanese P bass. Looking parallel to this club and Fender P bass Club, Japanese P bass is more and more attracted to me.

Stumbled on this puppy used, and I just couldn’t pass it up. I purchased it online in a bit of a gamble, ans it has exceeded my admittedly high expectations in just about every way.
It really was serendipitous: I wanted another J style bass to play in the hardcore band I’m in. I love my
AVRI j, but it’s not the best tool for the job. I’ve had my eye on Sandberg basses, but couldn’t get one in my hands before buying. Then this one popped up in new condition with a fantastic return policy, so I took the plunge. My band mates love it almost as much as I do!

It’s stable
It’s beautiful
It feels like I’ve been playing it my whole life already
I can’t get a bad sound out of it!

It was kinda crazy. Whenever I spec’d out a build on the configurator, it was in either Lake Placid blue or one of the other blues, PF fretboard, tort, etc., with the only significant difference being a matching headstock.

Then along comes this one.

I won’t even pretend to understand how the universe works (shrugs shruggingly).

I have some questions for the Sanberg experts.

For the TT and TM models, how do the pick up locations compare to the standard Fender Jazz bass locations?

Also for the TM model, does the humbucker bridge overpower the single coil neck when blended? Which coil of the humbucker is active when split into single coil mode?

I appreciate any assistance!

My TT4 Deluxe has the bridge pickup in a more 70's Jazz position (my Umbos are in the 60's position). The TM4 has the bridge coil on the MM around the 70's Jazz position too. The coil on the MM nearest the neck is more towards the neck than the 60's position. On my old TM4 it was the neck coil that was activated when coil tapped which I didn't like much. I changed mine so it tapped on the bridge coil and liked it better.
I didn't notice too much of a problem with overpowering the neck pickup as I recall.

I tried a 4 strings 48 on a store the other day and it played fantastic and was really well balanced, but I am not sure about the 5 strings as the neck is wider and heavier.

None that I’ve noticed. Good pin placement I guess. But it is a longer reach (35” scale).

Finish: Creme, High Gloss
Hardware: Chrome Sandberg
Pickups: Delano MM & Singlecoils
Preamp: Sandberg 2-band, active / passive, passive tone control

It had been used but was well taken care of...
No visible dents or scratches...
Way she sings...
Deserves far better player than I am...

It seems customary to ask for a number

I'm pretty sure that it's a different finish and process to begin with so they wouldn't be able to relic the highgloss finish.
