Club Sandberg (part 2)

What mid frequencies do you like to cut/boost on your outboard preamps/amps with your Sandberg?

I'm a new Sandberg owner and haven't had a chance to play it with the band yet, but at home so far I like either bumping 650hz for a nice mid pressence or bumping 300hz for that low mid growl role that I've become accustomed to being a warwick thumb user(Which my body can't take any more, goodbye heavy neck dive).

Welcome to the wonderful world of Sandberg!

With my Berg TM4's I'm usually a flat passive / mid-scooped active kinda guy. But it all depends on the genre/song and the acoustics of the room.

I for one demand pics of your beautiful Berg! :)

I finally have this Ken Taylor Basic 5 put together and playing nicely. I dropped over 1 pound from it by going with passive single coils, res-o-lite tuners and aluminium bridge. Also had it drilled for string thru body so the low B sounds tight. It’s still a bit heavy for long gigs but it’s waaaaay better. I know it looks a little weird with those jazz pickups but it sounds so nice. I don’t think I have a club member number yet.

Love the greenburst. Any plans for a pickguard to cover the routes?

I wouldn’t pick guard it - what you have done with the pick ups is pretty much hidden with no extra holes (aside from string through, but that’s an elegant addition), so if you did need to sell on, it’s not a massive butchery, or affecting cost, and can be restored
I call that excellent personalisation

Hi. We are here. Maybe we are a little bored? Well, I have some good news! I finally pulled the trigger on a bare bones TT passive. I love it! I am still on the way to building a HCR+ Vibe TM with Haussel big poles in it. I might put flats on the TT passive. Do you T-Bassers recommend?

Hello! I'm very tempted towards a California VS 4, but I cannot try it so I would love to know your impression about the sound and the versatility.
I'm in the classic P sound (sorry) but the preamp of the Sandberg seems very interesting and definitely a plus for me. I saw a bunch of videos but I'd like to know your opinion, thanks

My opinion: you can make a Sandberg VS4 sound like a Fender P, but you can't make a Fender P sound like anything other than a Fender P.
