Those are I think meant to be for Schaller straplocks. The fit mine. I like them.

Hello! I'm new to Sandberg basses but am very familiar (and in love with) German quality. I've played Warwick basses pretty much exclusively for a number of years but was recently introduced to Sandberg and had to have one. It arrived a week ago and I'm totally impressed with this instrument - I'm really looking forward to it's first live performance this weekend.
I am just curious ... but the VT comes with Delano pickups, is there a version with Sandberg pickups, mine has Delano pickups on both neck and bridge
It's epic! Sounds really tight and clean. Reminds me a bit of my Ibanez SR500e but with a cleaner sound, not as dark and muffled. It's an excellent bass for heavier music but still sounds good for funk with the rear pickup engaged.
Its not a super versatile bass regarding variety of tone with those 2 pickups so close, otherwise it's perfect for me. Really high quality as you'd expect and a pleasure to play.
There are more flavours than Baskin Robbins. What do you want to achieve?
Something that can easily fit on a pedalboard.
Something with a mid and mid freq knob.
Something that can do light break up / valves being pushed.
I play hard rock (not metal).
I know Darkglass make some great preamps - I'm just worried it might be a bit too 'metal' for what I need?Darkglass Vintage Ultra V2 all day long.
Don't worry. It's totally lite distorted sound, more overdriven then distorted. It's not hot as Alpha-Omega nor Microtubes BK3 or BK7.
I like it so much. Using it in the studio and live. For cover band, it's perfect for a bass sound from QOTSA, The Hives, Soundgarden, Jack White, Royal Blood, Audioslave...

Thanks for responding! It’s quite helpful for me since there are no dealers anywhere near me. This is the bass I want with a couple of changes. I want a 5 string with a 35” scale and a maple fretboard. Prolly do black body and black block inlays.
I'm gonna echo what @Obrad Lacarac said. The Vintage Ultra will do just about everything and is incredibly versatile and solidly built. If you play rock and need a preamp that is the first thing one should consider.
