Please elaborate...I never thought I’d find a bass as untouchable as my TM4SL, but then the VM4 showed up and HOLY MOLEY!
It’s worth the extra 2.5 lbs.View attachment 4750556

I think the VM is even punchier than the super light. Possibly a combination of the different pick ups and heavier woodPlease elaborate...
The Super Lights to my ears have a more open airy tone. The notes kind of linger in the air. The slightly heavier instruments seem to have more lunch and weight to the notes , more meat and grind.I think the VM is even punchier than the super light. Sweet!!Crappy cell phone pic from the office today but, I’m in! (I’ll try to get better pics this weekend) New to me TM5. This thing is great! Can I get a number?

I Have 2 TT4 Superlights. Loved the first one so much I special ordered another with the Glock 3 band preamp. That one sounds soooo good that I do NOT know why SB doesn’t use the 3 band in all their basses. Anyway, decided I needed the first one to have a three band also, so I dropped in an Audere preamp and a set of Dimarzio jazz pickups. Those babies are dark and juicy! So now I have 2 flavors of Sandberg goodness and a medium scale on order. Sold my Pedulla, sold my Zon, sold my Lull, sold my Elrick, even sold my custom Sadowsky NYC. I’m tempted to get another superlight and install the crappiest p-ups and offshore preamp I can find to see if they’ll sound good anyway. Course, Thomastic flats….My rule of thumb is to never change out pickups on an expensive bass. I would only do that on Fender MIMs or Squiers.

Nice finish . I wish they would do matching headstocks on these more vibrant finishes.View attachment 4755727 Here’s mine, TM4 Nighthawk Plus. Fantastic bass. As well as owning a Spector, this has a wonderful contrast between the two basses.

Yep, the only thing I didn't like about my grand dark was the unfinished headstock. The night hawk is amazing but they don't offer a 35" scale...Nice finish . I wish they would do matching headstocks on these more vibrant finishes.
2 is always better than one .Man I'm anxious to join this club! Played a VM 5 on vacation recently and instantly ordered a VM 4. That one's still not due in until September. So of course I did the sensible thing and found a VM 5 in stock on the other side of the world and ordered it too. Can't afford either of them but that's never stopped me before.
Honestly I'll probably end up selling one of the two once they're both here. I wanted a 4 but found a super sexy and well priced 5 so I'm really not sure which of the two I'll end up holding on to.
Anyway, aside from sitting on USPS pressing refresh, flipping through the pics of the VM 5, and watching the same videos on YT repeatedly I've been lurking here and thought I'd say hi before I get my number (hopefully soon).

Side note: Gregor's bass looks awesome! Love that guy
I’m right there with you. I came across a great priced vm5 here in the classifieds and jumped for it. I’ve watched every video and bass cover I can find. Some of the tones seem just what I’m lookin for and some make me want a TM as well. It’s at my local UPS distribution center but won’t be here til Monday. I’m so excited to get it I even called to see if I could go pick it up at the warehouse. No dice.Man I'm anxious to join this club! Played a VM 5 on vacation recently and instantly ordered a VM 4. Haha, I about did the same this morning. Was pleasantly surprised to see it jumped from landing at customs at JFK the day before to hitting my region this morning. Hopefully we'll both join the club Monday![]()
