I used my VM5 last Sunday in a church auditorium that seats about 150 and will get to play it again in a larger auditorium that seats about 1000 - just finished practice tonight. Those two beefy pickups in that location give a real solid tone with the right mix of fat and definition. It punches well with the kick drum and sits just right in the mix. We did a soulful gospel number with piano, bass, drums and vocal in the smaller auditorium and the piano player said "Man that low end has guts, great tone." The larger auditorium has subs which are often too hot below 80 Hz so I play the low strings lighter and toward the bridge to keep the low end even. The Sandberg was outstanding at keeping the low end tight with good pitch definition. This bass is working out well.

). Too bad because it would sound so good onstage.
