Depends on the build. He can do stuff that is a bunch of nice parts put together or he can make things by hand. My 57P is a parts bass that only took 8 weeks. The CAR has a handmade neck and handwound pickups and took about 3 months.

Yeah. I have a Lollar in my 57P and Ben suggested I try his handwound pickup in the second bass because they growl like the lollars but are a little bit clearer. Given the choice again in future (which is unlikely because I'm broke and set for basses) I'd say I slightly prefer Ben's pickup.

It's the same big spider circuit with a blend knob ala the darkglass stuff. I think it's going to give me exactly what i need. I really dug the BS the first time around but i felt like i needed a little more low end at high volume/extreme settings. I think the blend knob is going to give that to me. I tend to put it on my meatsmokes dirty channel so it can get pretty out of control
if someone points me in a good direct for PC video/sound editing, i'll do up a video with nice mics/preamps and my gopro camera

Man that is too cool and is exactly what that pedal needed was it special order or is Ben making a version two of the pedal?.
I ordered it special. though i told him he should consider making it an option. now that he's got the circuit figured out i'm sure he will be able to offer it to anyone.

I've read people saying it sounds like an Ampeg/Orange mix and thats pretty much what it is. Massive low end, almost sweet like overdriven tones. Sorry not much of a reviewer..

I own an Orange amp, and to my ear, the MS Pre is very close in tone to my Orange. I think the lows from the MS are more articulate and have much more warmth than my Orange.
I love grindy distorted bass tones, but I think this preamp really excels in the fat/clean department as well.

I agree that's what I used mine for for me it worked better in the effects loop.
