MS Pre #84 went under the knife today. Other than a few times of me stopping and praying I wouldn't kill a $700 pedal, I had it done in less than 5 minutes and up and running again.

My resistor is in the mail!

I had a few hours to kill yesterday between Fathers Day stuff, so I started brushing up on my soldering skills. I built a BYOC Confidence Booster kit which seems to work fine, and I started putting together my Leeds Fuzz kit. It's pretty tedious figuring out all the resistor values and whatnot, but overall I find the experience pretty enjoyable and not overly difficult.

Knock on wood the fuzz pedal works first try though, because troubleshooting would not be enjoyable in the least.

Hey, if the dude who bought my MS pre see's this, I have the resistor to send to you. However, im pretty sure that my unit was one of the first to experience the problem and was fixed by Ben (super quick) but just in case , you should have it.
I went back and looked at my paypal and PM's and can't seem to find your info. Hopefully you stumble apon this.

Just had mine done yesterday by Todd at AMP here in Dallas. I didn't trust myself not to wreck my preamp. Took him all of 3 minutes. He seemed to think that the original resistor may have been misplaced. Overall, he was very complimentary on the design, quality of the components, sound, etc.

Number 30 is all good to go again! AND not only do I now have a local amp tech but I was able to trade him for one well delivered Chiropractic Adjustment! Hopefully I'll have some time to play it this morning.

My last show with the band I just quit, I had to do that. I watched my gear like a hawk and no one touched a knob. But it did sound effing amazing from the crowd! So happy with my tone.

I'm going to miss that band. It was a hell of a lot of fun. However, my new job and the new city I'm moving to will be so much better.

The bassist in the headlining band is a very close friend of mine too who doesn't give two ***** about tone, so I'm not worried about anyone damaging or messing up my gear. Not sure about the first band on the bill, but with that resistor fixed and a power amp well matched to my cab, I don't think I have much to worry about. Opening bands don't usually share gear with us "seasoned" players anyway. :)

Its almost here! The 2x15 Cab built by Josh of Olde Crow Cabinets is ready and should be paired with my Meatsmoke soon!

*Yep, that's 15 rounds of Birdshot varnished into the finish. Its coming to the US from Canada through Homeland Security's X Ray. Wonder what they'll think.... :hiding:
