I agree. They both sound great through the MS. But for two totally different applications. The OSD is an overdrive based on the OCD, but with a bit more gain. The S&S is a fuzz, based on a muff. I feel like the OSD gives you more note definition, especially if your using the boost channel. That said, the Grey Satche was the first pedal I tried with the MS and I was blown away. It loves muffs.
I'm not far away from ordering another pre. I have been tucking money away for the last few months. Man do I miss that thing.

This used to happen to me with my Emperor cab and SVT 3Pro. I never actually lost the amp off the top, but I came close. Also all the vibrations from the cab left me with several broken solder joints after a while.

Eventually I opened the cab up and found it had absolutely NO bracing inside. So I braced it like a boss and now it's solid as a rock and won't even vibrate a cell phone off the top.

Well, the show on Saturday went off without a hitch, and the MS pre backline rig sounded great for all the bands. All the bands played varying degrees of punk rock, and even the sound guy commented on how great the bass tone was.

I had him run the XLR out from the back on the rack pre direct to the board and it sounded pretty much perfect all night. Actually every band played different types of basses (P, J, Ric, and active EMG), and while they all sounded different, they all sounded great with pretty minimal EQ tweaks and sat nicely in the mix.

Anybody else haves gig on the weekend?

I use the OSD to get a sharper, edgier tone to really cut through the mix on certain songs, and I find the BB does almost the opposite. It sort of blends the highs in with the guitars (in a good way), but really brings out a lot of beef in the lows and makes everything sound ridiculously huge and powerful.

1 new fuse later and 14 new tubes later. Everything is working again :)

Did you get the boost volume and eq section mod done?

I'm sort of kicking myself. If I would've waited a few months I could've had it for the same price with the boost at a useable level instead of having to pay half of the cost of the pedal to fix it. Still love the dickens out of it, just sucks knowing it could be even better >.<

Well I toyed with the idea of selling my MS rack (actually had it listed for about a day). I was planning on using the cash towards the purchase of the 300w version. After some thought, I deleted the sales thread. I just couldn't part with it. It really is a sweet sounding preamp.

I ended up buying a Berg AE410 to pair with it...lol. I'm gonna gig the MS/Berg rig next Friday (outdoor beach gig). I'm sure it'll sound wonderful.

Hey everybody,

I swung by Ben's shop yesterday and got the resistor mod on my MS Pre. Very painless, and as Ben indicated its just a precaution as I've never had any problems.

Not to Buzzkill the thread, But I'd like you to spread the word on this if you can. I'm listing my Meatsmoke head for sale at Bass NW. Its pretty much mint, I received it this spring and its only had 3 shows on it - without question, the nicest head I've ever owned.

The reason I'm selling: My 10-year old daughter's cancer has returned. We're optimistic, but we're digging in for a few months of treatment that's going to cost us....please don't ask about selling it direct, I really don't have time to ship or haggle right now. I will be listing a few pedals here on TB, but I need to spending more time with my family during this period.

All proceeds are going back direct to my daughter's cancer fund. *And Evan Sheeley the owner of Bass NW is a cancer survivor and has been a strong advocate for my daughter as well. Ben has been following her story and spoke to me yesterday about this too - she's got a lot of supporters out there and we're grateful for that.

Below are links to the Bass NW site, and another to the Facebook group that has been organizing fundraisers and support for my daughter. The cancer is a malignant Brain tumor, she gets her next MRI Sunday and we're hopeful the chemo has stabilized the tumor and that the proton radiation will kill it...

I still have my pedal, and will hold on to it as long as I can. Thanks for your Prayers...

Thanks NKB - it did sell within 24 hours. Once Ben got the word out, there's enough people on this rock that know what great work he does. It. Is. The. Finest. Amp. Ever.

And yes, my daughter has an MRI tomorrow and travels to Loma Linda Wednesday for a CT measurement. Proton radiation should start later this month...we're fighting. And so is she.
