Attention musicians in the Denver/Boulder area. Please help our friend Rita find her stolen drums!
...

Remember I posted about Rita's stolen drums a few pages back?

RITA'S DRUMS ARE FOUND...by a Talkbass member!

Thanks to Talkbass member "Kit829", Rita is getting her drums back. Kit829 was looking for the same drumset stumbled on a set on the Music Go Round website. She knew that there are not many Genista sets around, especially in red sparkle, so she replied to Rita's CL ad and called me at the store. Thanks to Kit829, Rita's drums are coming home!

Rita's drums were found at Music Go Round in Aurora, CO. While most of the cymbals were already gone, she is getting the red sparkle drums, her snares and some other stuff back. Aurora PD and Boulder County Sherriff are on the case, so hopefully they catch the perps.

Thanks again Kit829!

A friend of mine (who doesn't frequent this site) had his car broken into and bass stolen in the Colorado Springs area 2 weeks ago. He lives right outside of town in Falcon, goes by 'Lucky', and is well known in the CS area. As he's a very private person - feel free to PM me or post here, and information will be transferred to he and the local law enforcement authorities. This is a very distinct looking 2005 Carvin LB75 (5-string) he bought new and has the Carvin chip embedded in it (for whatever that is worth). Friends are assisting with funds for a newly ordered instrument, as he's currently only working part time. Everyone can appreciate impact of the loss of one's only bass, I trust, and any help would be more than appreciated PLUS rewarded. Thanks in advance...Whitey

I've just posted the photos on my Facebook page (Premier Bass Guitars | Facebook)

THAT'S another reason which makes this place special! I love a (reasonably) happy ending. Good cymbals aren't cheap, but the snares and drums are the same as a bass to us low-enders. Perhaps the capture of the thief will allow for tracking down the cymbals, too. Rita's chances for a happy weekend have been enhanced greatly

I'd bet that most of you have had a chance to visit Dan @ Premier Bass, but if not get over there NOW! Not only do they have the best selection of basses, amps and gear around, but Dan is a great guy and who loves talking shop.

Nice catching up and hanging with you Dan.

We're all lucky to have your shop here in Colorado!

UPDATE: NO news that amounted to anything - so everyone's still in the hunt :(

I find it a bit sad that someone in the Denver area has gone out of their way to flag every post I make on Craigslist looking for a guitarist. It's especially sad that I was flagged 5 times all the way up to 10:30 PM. Being still very new to CO, I know it's not someone who personally knows me. But seriously though, why all the hate?

Where are you posting it? It's not supposed to go in the For Sale section. There's a talent section elsewhere on the site.

Thanks to everyone who attended the Frank Russell / Norm Stockton clinic last night. We had a great showing, and both Frank and Norm said it was one of the best clinics they've had. Guys like this will always put on a great show, but having an attentive and enthusiastic audience always helps. They both asked me to thank all of you who attended.

Dan

For all that couldn't attend, sorry you missed another really great clinic put on by Dan @Premier Bass Guitars. Frank and Norm were really cool, knowledgeable, and down to earth guys to chat with and learn from.

Thanks Again, to Dan and his team at Premiere they rocked it once again!!!!

Mark your calendars. Coming the weekend of June 9/10 is the Rocky Mountain Bass Slam.

This is a great weekend of bass, with Clinics at Mojo's Music Academy on Sat. June 9, and a bass fest concert on Sun. June 10 at Jammin' Joes in Arvada.

This is a fund raiser for a worthy cause (the Blue Star connection: www.BlueStarConnection.org).

Premier Bass Guitars is a co-sponser, and we will be providing the backline amps for the Sunday concert, plus an MTD Saratoga bass for the raffle. We'll have amp rigs from Genz Benz, Mesa, Aguilar, GK, and others. So if you've always wanted to hear one of these amps in action, here's your chance.

There will be some great local Colorado bass talent performing, plus the amazing Doug Johns with groove master drummer Jordan Simms (these guys are not only amazing, but are some of the nicest people you'll ever meet...really!). You won't hear anything funkier than these two playing together.

Come on out and join us for a weekend of fun.
