I have close to 20 sets of used bass strings that I simply don't need, some of them are labeled, some of them are like new. First person to come grab them from my house in downtown boulder can have them. Most of the strings are DR nickels, there is even a set of flats, a set of picollo's, etc.4 and 5 strings sets, some high C's.
I need a number, 68 if I'm reading correctly?
And premier, the slam was fantastic, great to see a personal idol like chuck, thrilled I finally made it out to one.

Can anyone recommend a good bass teacher near Parker? Intermediate, theory and technique. Preferably someone with a degree. Thanks

I think there was a good guy based out of Allegro Music store for a while. Not sure if he's still there though.

That's the only one I know of in Parker. A lot of the better guys that I know of that teach are based out of Denver.
Hey folks, next Wednesday night (6/20) my band Vintage Winds is playing classic rock and blues in the Fort Collins Oldtown Square from 7-9. Drop by and say howdy or just enjoy.

I should have been more specific, my fault. Denver is fine. I figured that I would have to drive to Denver. I just don't want names of cats that are getting lessons in Longmont or something. I am looking for an educated instructor as I have some, not a lot, but some college level music theory under my belt and am looking for someone who can teach me more + bass specific technique.

Oh! Gotcha. I have taken a couple lessons from Robin Ruscio and have been very happy. He is a professional bass player around Denver. He plays electric and upright. He seems to be very proficient in a variety of styles as well. He is also a member of talkbass, so you can message him here or he has a website as well. Just google him and he will pop up!

Thanks to all of you who attended the Rocky Mountain Bass Slam. A great day of bass, for a worthy cause, and some lucky attendees won an MTD Kingston Saratoga bass and a Genz Benz Shuttle 6.2 amp.
All the performers were great! I had a blast, and the highlight of my day was getting to meet Chuck Rainey. As you may know, he suffered a stroke last year, and is not completely back in shape for playing. He's walking with a cane, but his mind is fully intact and he's doing well. I had a great conversation with him, and am extremely happy his recovery is going well. Keep sending the good vibes to Chuck!
Musical highlights for the day for me were Doug Johns with drummer Jordan Simms, and then Mahlon Hawk jammin' to some loops. And the event organizers Paul Rogalski and Glen Tapia did a great rendition of School Days. (Big hat tip to those two for organizing this event)
Oh yeah, and Jeff St. Andrews doing the slide thing on his bass with a giant nail was pretty awesome too! (And Jeff, if you're reading this you didn't blow up my Mesa amp. After the fact I realized that using some of your distortion pedals we should have probably turned off the tweeters. Still, you sounded great out front).
If you didn't go this year, you really need to go next year.
