Would we be able to put flyers up at Music Go Round or Guitar Center?
I guess they might not be cool with it since the event is technically being hosted at a shop which would potentially take away some of their business but.... it's an idea anyway.
I could post flyers in my area if the shops agree to allow it.
ETA: That is a totally wicked flyer! It looks great! But my printer caught sight of it and is now crying in the corner.
Is there a printer friendlier version (ie: plain white background, not so much gradient stuff)

Thanks for the positive vibes on the poster! I'm a graphic artist by day, and I could've easily kept working on it for hours, but I wanted to get one up to Premier Bass, so I only spent about 45 minutes on it this morning.
I would imagine that as long as you ask first, you could put them up anywhere as long as the shop is cool with it.
If you're going to print from home, try this file. The first one was primarily built for screen, so I added a white border to the edge of this one so it doesn't cut anything off... most home printers can't do edge-to-edge color.
Let me know if you have any problems! Should print okay though... despite what it looks like, it's still only medium res and the file is only like 440K (pretty small). Talkbass wouldn't let me upload a high-res version. lol I've dealt with files in the 2-4GB range that choked computers in the past.

I know! It'll be good to put faces with screen names. I'll see if I can find a roll of those "Hello, My Name Is" name tags so people will know who's who! Lol

Bump for the GTG at Premier Bass on July 7 from 2-6pm!
Be SURE to RSVP to Funkyebk, because food/refreshments will be served and we need an accurate headcount!
Also, don't forget... you can bring any axes/pedals you think people might want to take a gander at.
Scott Surine will also be there with a few of his basses in various states of completion. Sounds like he'll be talking about his process and available for a bit of Q&A. I know I'M definitely looking forward to meeting him!

For anyone that will be bringing things to show off:
1- PBG can supply a few stands, but please, if you can, bring a stand for each instrument you bring. We really don't want anyone's baby getting dinged, and we cringe when basses are leaned against counters...
2- Label any stands, cords, etc. Not they they would walk off, but that we know who's is who's. One $300 AC cord looks just like another $300 AC cord, ya know?
3- Again, we have several amps in the store, and it will get very crowded if everyone brings their own rig, so if you plan on bringing one, please let me know before hand... If there's someone else bringing a Behemoth Systems 10x8" (Get it?? A "BS cabinet"... I kill me!) it'd be really embarrassing if you brought yours too... like two girls in the same dress at the ball...
If there's anyone that would like volunteer an SVT, I'm sure that'd be great to share with the class... I think that's a rig that not everyone has played through, but would like the chance to try... if anyone is interested, let me know.

I thought it would also be cool if there were like, little "Tech Tip Stations" (or booths or what have you) with tech tip type stuff. I've done a lot of research into cleaning my instruments, so I'd certainly be willing to share my recipe for keeping basses clean (it's not difficult, but there seems to be misconception out there about what's good vs. what's not), maybe Kevin at the shop could do a "truss rod adjustment" lesson (I know I could use advice on dual truss rod adjustment!) or things like that. Anyone have thoughts on that? I'll mention it to Dan when I'm up there on Saturday and see what he thinks...

I'll find out more at the next rehearsal... the gig calendar for the band says 3pm, but a text message says 4pm, so I don't even know what's going on.
Don't get me wrong, that band is fun... we've got 10 vocalists... but nothing is EVER on time and we usually only play 2-4 songs (not even a "warmup"), but our gigs usually turn into MULTI-HOUR commitments. We played at the Soul Food Festival at CSU and we only played two songs, but it turned out to be an EIGHT HOUR DAY.
And yeah, I've expressed my discontent to the band leader several times.
*grumble grumble* Sorry... /Rant.
I don't think I've ever said this about a live gig before, but... I think I actually hope it's cancelled. Is that bad?
I'm seriously considering playing hooky from the gig.
