....I rock the house because it is my favorite bass to play. I found that the srff806 I have is very well made and has great playability. The only 2 complaints I have are: I wish the output jack was on the side so I could use a 90 degree cable(had just rewired my wireless transmitter cable to a 90 degree connector before i purchased my bass) and I hit my finger on the nut sometimes when I go for a low f or low c. But that is probably just bad technique on my part. It is light compared to the other cheap 6 string I have though, which made a difference at the end of the night. Overall great bass that I think looks pretty sweet.

Yep still play Fayetteville regularly typically like every 4-6 weeks, 2017 was our busiest year in probably decade. By far the most out of town shows we’ve done. Played Jacksonville and Wilmington the most aside from Fayetteville, also hit Raleigh, Charlotte, and Myrtle beach. We’ve been taking it easy the last couple months because our Drummer Will and his wife have a baby on the way and they are doing some remodeling but after the baby is born we’ll be back to playing gigs just about every weekend again. We do have a gig in Fayetteville this Saturday with basically all bands which have members that have been around for years if you want to come hang out.

The fifth you may remember (Roy Cathey) . Several devils has several guys that were in pinebox and legacy kills (Joey Miller, Adrian Warwick, and Pauly) , breathe new life is Shawn Adkins from the rock Shop and the band the Answers new band and Affinity is Matt Lowry from Peice by Pieces new band. Breathe new life and Affinity are made up mostly of all the lumbee boys that have been around since the Jesters era of the Fayetteville scene in bands like Peice by Peice and Driven. Travis is still around playing in a band called Aurora but they haven’t been gigging lately. Chad is still around but their singer Brent Tatum (forever July, prodigal son) moved to SC and they mainly just play a benefit or two a year.

All our stuff is up on youtube now if you want to check it out. Have a few videos and all 4 albums posted on there.

...I'd feel a bit uncomfortable. Not because of the 5 or 6 strings and a not at all because of the fanned frets, but because of the narrow string spacing of the SR series.
I can easily go back and forth between 5 and 6 stings and fanned frets/parallel frets, but the string spacing always gets me.

I owned one for a while and liked it quite a bit. However, I have sold it as it was my first bass and I have since moved to 4 string basses and find the wider string spacing better for my hands. If it weren't for that, I'd still own it.

I owned a Dingwall NG2 for a while and sold it basically because I don't play 5's and the more extreme fanned frets made it more difficult for me to play and sing. Lead singer as well but if I just played the Dingwall was great. I bought the SRFF800 and love it. Being tuned down to E flat already having that little bit extra on the E string makes drop D sound better. IMHO. The pickups are a bit meh but I can get a good tone out of it and it's super light.

...I wonder who the heck bought it for me, as I sure as heck didn't. I'm certain I'd also be staring at all the parts, contemplating what I needed to change to get what I need out of it - I build all my basses, and I'm particular about hardware and such; I've literally never seen a bass where I didn't think "well, the bridge needs to go, and the tuners....."

I used to play the FF806 but I am glad I got rid of the 806 and bought the 4505 prestige, but I still love my Groove Line G105 which I bought at the same time, better than my 4505 and my Dingwall Super J5 combined.

I was in a guitar shop this past week and they had a new SRMS805 in the box that hadn't been opened yet, so I opened it and took the bass out to give it a good going over. I was impressed with the overall quality and the ease of playability of the neck, but I felt that the fanned frets we not "fanned enough" if you will compared to a Dingwall Combustion which was also there to play. I'm aware that the scale of the SRMS805 is shorter than the Combustion so I must chalk the lack of fanning of the frets up to the bass having a shorter scale.

I think if I was to make any changes to the SRMS805 it would be in the electronics. I'm not a fan of Bartolini p/u's and preamps so I'd replace them with Nordstrand electronics.

Overall a very nice bass with a very good price point.
