Did you order one yet? I got my first one within days, the second one I think took a couple weeks.

Option #2 is the Dayton waveguide, but this horn isn't ideal for me as sometimes I'm playing in close quarters.

Could place it with the 80° on the vertical and with 50° across, or do the same with 18 Sound XD 125. But... anyway, above 6K Hz the electric bass has so little harmonic content that it probably won't make or break your bass guitar monitoring, so much as it would impact stage or venue output if the gloss or percussiveness up there is a part of your sound that you want to impart to others.

What's really great about the JBL small PT is that pretty much nothing else sounds that good at 5 times the price, and unlike some of the alternatives I've been weighing, doen't have some real swaths cut out at multiples of some frequency.

Yeah, the Dayton is actually rotatable after the fact, which is partly why I liked it. If someone was using a 12/6 always in tilt-back more they could rotate the waveguide if they so desired.

There are a couple of decent guides by P Audio at LoudspeakersPlus. One of them is asymmetric, meaning the pattern is aimed not straight ahead, but tilted - normally downward for pole-mounted PA, but could be reversed upwards.

The other one is I think 90 x 65 and looks pretty decent too. I think it links to the wrong pdf, but that's available on P Audio's site. I never put it in the fEARful data because the other alternatives at the time were cheaper.

Thanks greenboy--always nice to have alternatives. As it turns out Duke is sending us his JBL Waveguide. Thanks so much Duke!! You are also da' Man!

Robby tells me the panel glue-ups should be done and tolex-ing should start this week. As usual, will post pics as I get them.

Hmmmm. Actually, your profile is somewhat ambiguous on that subject. But if you are, well then... you da Man! And if not... you still da Man!

And that would be for taking the gutsy initial leap, keeping the Talkbass community totally in the loop, and one-upping everyone else in the bass cab world. Credit of course to Rob for the innovation and greenboy for the masterminding.

It sure would be nice to have a 4 ohm 3015LF for one of these. Eminence wouldn't build it until Avatar committed to large quantities but I believe the DIY market would also buy enough of these to make it worthwhile for Eminence to have it available as a general item. This is the one speaker I've seen that a 4 ohm version really makes sense because of the power it handles and the air it moves. Nidacore 15/6/1 with a 4 ohm 3015LF? Oh yeah!

Quick update:

Well there was some delay with getting parts. The drivers weren't all in yet at speakerhardware.com. No fault to Leland and his crew, he just started carrying the 18 sound line and I decided to wait to purchase from him rather than give my business to someone who I've never dealt with.

Without the drivers the balance point can't be marked.
Without the balance point the handle cutouts can't be made.
Without the handle cutouts the box can't be upholstered.
So we've been waiting.

Otherwise the enclosure is all glued up and looks great. Parts come in Saturday so looks like this puppy will get finished this week.
