She is, I saw the Pixies in a club in 1987--well, part of the set*--and later saw the Breeders at Lolla, then a full Pixies show on one of the first reunion tours circa '05.

*I played a few gigs as a sideman for Moe Tucker of the Velvet Underground. She was doing a mix of Velvets material, covers, and solo stuff, and in Boston the Pixies (who soon after released Come On Pilgrim, as it turned out) were the opener. I'd flown up from Florida for that show and a CBGB's date the night before, so I used borrowed gear, including Kim's bass rig in Boston. (It was a very brief conversation.) I actually missed most of their set as we (the band) were eating dinner at a Mediterranean place next door, complete with a belly dancer. A friend of mine drove up from Connecticut for the show and said the Pixies were pretty bad that night. Little did we know what they would go on to do!

Sounds like a fun gig and how cool of Kim to let you use her rig.

You played with Moe Tucker… that’s very cool! A genuine icon.

I don’t want to completely derail the thread but can i ask, what was she like?
