Cool Strap Club!

Thanks for the number!
Hey, I have a question...
Not sure if this is the right place to put this but...

Has anyone painted a strap?

I have Invalid Link Removed, and want to spiff it up for my upcoming NBD (ONLY 7 MORE DAYS!!). I can't draw for crap any more so I was planning on finding some sort of stencil and probably acrylic paint, or maybe that special fabric paint.

Are there any good tutorials about how to do this?

Just picked up this 3 1/2" wide Black Iguana (textured leather) strap by Pete Schmidt ( Link Removed ). The quality is very good - double stitched, high quality leather, excellent workmanship... Was looking at Moody's Leathers and saw that some folks complained about quality issues after the company was sold. Then discovered Pete Schmidt - less expensive and very good quality. I just ordered a second one for another bass...

Pete Schmidts are the best money can buy.

I kinda view straps as a fun extension of whatever bass they're on.

Norcal, would like to see ya spin that bass with that strap, lol, and keep yer pants on, how long does it take to remove, and put on, now understand i might actually be giving you a call at some point for one but today, it looks positively medevial, sort of nasty if ya see where im heading.

it literally takes 2 sec. as i use straploks & it has a 3way clip in the front. i leave the belt strap on, no need to remove it during breaks

pm me when you're ready to pull the trigger :)

I stumbled upon a leather company that makes custom guitar and bass straps called Brookwood Leather. The owner, Bob Schell (it’s a one-man operation) made a 5-part YouTube video showing him making a strap from start to finish. He goes into detail on most of the items and techniques used and I found it quite interesting.

The first of the 5 parts is here:

Note: I am in no way associated with Bob or Brookwood Leather.

Why is he carrying a gun? That's really weird...

ya know, i'm truly sorry if i've caused you a great amount of butthurt in any way in this life, or any of your past lives, but i'm not that bad of a person really. if you disagree with anything i've said in the past, that's cool, just don't take too seriously, i don't :)

peace out

I'm hardly the one who's butt hurt. You showed your ass through an entire thread constantly repeating your opinions as if they were fact. The whole point of talkbass is to get a variety of opinions not just yours.

The neck dive thread could have been a good one if not dominated by your rampant aggressive hard sell on your ridiculous looking strap.
