Coolest looking P-Bass?

It's gotta be the Mike Dirnt. I've got a Squier one, wish I could afford the Fender for the sake of the Badass bridge and better pickups.

In my experience, I find the Fender CS '58 pup in the Dirnt sig to be a bit anemic sounding. There are lots of better choices out there. For me, the Fralin P pup is where the magic is. Some people like the BA bridge, some don't. I'm in the "don't" camp. The standard Fender vintage-style bridge gets the job done for me.

All that said, I love the Dirnt body, and it's the heart of my #1...

This one's pretty cool from a historical perspective, though the price isn't.. starting bid @ 95,000$.. whoa!

Wow; thanks for finding & posting that! Outside of Jamerson's bass, that sure qualifies as the coolest P-Bass...What a history!

As for authenticity, I can't imagine a potential buyer with that kind of $$ flying to Memphis, meeting at a Bank (as required) and purchasing an instrument that isn't what the auction says this one is.

I know there's a suckah born every minute, but IMO, any collector with the wherewithal that would even consider spending 95 large for an instrument would most likely know what they're doing.

Whatever the case, very cool story, very cool bass!
