I don't have the D800 but, I do have the BigBlock 750 and a Genz NeoX2x12(and a Ric 4003) and I can tell you that Ric and Mesa is tonal bliss..
EDIT: I see you got your Ric...I didn't read all the comments before I posted so a congratulations is in order....enjoy !!

Hmm, I would consider RICs the bright side.
Especially their 12 string 360

I wish they'd make a 4005 / 12 string bass loosely based on that pattern. (Ain't holdin' my breath on that, though)
