I've seen both Crown and QSC amps go down in p.a. racks before. It can happen to any amp brand. Yes both companies have made some pretty good, to great power amps in their history, and still do so. Never have seen a Peavey power amp go down though.

In english?

you use a four conductor speakon cable that's wired for bridged mode ( +1 & +2 on the amp's channel 1 output to +1 & -1 on the cab's input), then you use the xti's dsp and set it to bridged mode and use just channel one's input.
So when you buy a normal four conductor speakon cable off the shelf, you have to rewire it to use it for bridging any power amp, or is it just the Crowns ?
I wouldn't say better... Maybe more detailed... The even less wordy version follows...
Bridged mode: Wire the speaker for bridged mode; select bridged mode on input.
If all else fails,"Read the instructions".
It's pretty much the same for every piece of equipment in the world. Snowblower works the same way.

I have an SWR 8x10. I haven't seen a "bridged mode" on the cabinet. Or are you talking about "bridged mode" on the power amp it self? However, I can bi-amp it. It has two different inputs. Does that make any difference?
Or are you saying- I have to get inside of my cabinet, change the wiring, etc?
