I have just loaded the amp in the car and am about to grab my basses (one electric, one electric upright) and go get the singer. It has been a long day at work and this promises to be a long night too, cos we are scheduled to play at midnight as the "afterparty surprise" band. Three bands before us, including our guitarist's other band.

So of course I look forward to it, but I will also be glad once it is over. Experience has taught me that being last in a line-up of more than two bands usually means:

(1) you will play an hour later than planned (if you're lucky)
(2) most people will have gone home by now

But hey, this is the first time we are playing for the door, so who knows we may actually end up playing for the door :D Sorry, that was lame :hiding:

I am not booked, however I will be attending the ASBURY MUSIC AWARDS AT THE STONE PONY on Saturday, November 13th. This is the annual awards for the local scene and are usually attended by most of the local musicians of note. Many times both Bruce and Jon Bon have come to name drop shamelessly.

I will be there cheering on all the nominees and of course the winners.

(Note, these awards started after I reached my pinnacle, so I am not eligible for most of the award categories and therefore have not been nominated this year.)

just got done awhile ago. first time i've used my Dingwall and i'm still not comfortable above the 14the fret. so had to play a part really different on the fly.

REALLY good sound here tho. had an awesome time. all the other bands were good too.

Friday was cool, but Saturday I had a special treat.
A great guitarist and a great guy- I did sound for him years ago, but he’s been retired to the home studio for years. I’m talking a true musician, never did anything all his life but play, even in the service, and from big stages to dive bars, and a great showman who always gave it his all. I keep in touch with him mostly via email, mainly checking to see how he’s doing, as his health is kinda iffy.

Anyways, we play this club that’s two minutes from his house, so we invited him out, and to my surprise he came. Band I’m in has no blues on the song list, so we did “The Thrill Is Gone”, drummer sang it, and Billy sang “Red House”, and… o.m.g… he tore it up, and the crowd reaction was unbelievable.

Just sharing, ‘cause I love and respect this guy, and this was a very special treat for me. :)

We are at one of the top clubs in the city this weekend. It has been a struggle to get booked there as our booking agency has kept saying we are "too heavy". :hmm: Sheesh. It's classic rock. We added a few cooler, dancier 80s tunes and I guess are on almost a try out this weekend. See how it goes.

The band is really looking forward to it. Big stage, big sound. Stoked.

Hope we don't suck. lol
