Curse the Geddy Lee Jazz neck!!!

My new Geddy Lee has ruined my other Jazz basses. I've been playing the Geddy exclusively for the past month. Today I grabbed my Classic 60's Jazz and the neck felt all wrong. Way too thick. I had to put it down.

That Geddy neck is just so fast and comfortable.

Curse you Geddy!

the one thing im not too fond of on the Marcus Miller and Geddy are the thinned out necks.

I just bought a GEDDY LEE of this guy for $200.00...........His son bought it and went of to collage and lost intrest....NEVER HAS BEEN PLAYED
Anyways I have a Roscoe Beck bass as well as a Warwick and I have not picked them up since Geddy Lee come in the house.

I was just thinking this morning, the neck on my Fender Urge Standard is very nice, but it's not as nice as my Spector. Different vinegar strokes for different folks!

Anyone looking to score one with a slightly warped neck but other than, its in excellent condition.... That's why I heard Fender is revamping it with a better truss rod.

All seriousness watch out for warping on that Skinny Neck.

The neck on a Geddy is the fastest (and thinnest) I have ever played. I traded my Geddy recently though as my Sadowsky is getting played most of the time these days.

I can tell you one thing.... you won't love your Geddy neck after the first time you need to adjust the truss rod though! What a royal pain in the a$$!!!!

No. It's been a while since I've played one, but I'd say the Jag neck is closer--maybe identical--to that of a typical Fender J.

The Geddy's neck is much skinnier. I had one briefly, but I returned it because I couldn't handle the tiny neck.

I have a Geddy with a Huge P profile moses neck...tone for days and I'm not worried about feeling light in my loafers with that tiny neck.

I also often slap on a Moses fretless neck (35 inch scale), the 70's pickup placement really suit the fretless sound and the harmonics just jump out at you.

Perfect for the studio.

Really? Where did you hear this? Geddy said Fender is going to run it with a satin finish neck but nothing about a new truss rod.

I had one for about a year. Sounded pretty good, but the neck was too skinny to be comfortable. It's too narrow side-to-side and the contour forced my wrist into an awkward location. The bass just didn't sound good enough for me to want to adapt to the way it felt.

The truss rod adjustment is no different than any Fender with the adjustment nut at the heel, that's no big deal. And as skinny as the neck on mine was, the neck was pretty stable. I suspect if I removed the BA bridge, and put a real neck on it it would have been a very fine Jazz bass, but I can get a Lakland Skyline JO that's right for me off the wall.

I love my Geddy's neck! Once you get used to it you'll get spoiled. However
I'm more than able to pick up my trusty 78 P-Bass and adjust back to that chunky
fat U shaped neck which actually is able to take a low string action set up with
no fret buzzing. I do love my Geddy however.
