Custom Bass Wait Support Group Needed!!! [Part 2]

I received an e-mail this afternoon confirming that my Sei 7 www.seibass.com is finally finished !!

Here's the pic which confirmed that she's ready to roll !!

The final hurdle was the rear compartment covers. Usually the piece cut from the facings is put back in it's original place, but DHL lost the package returning the covers back to Sei HQ. New covers were made and the finishers put them to the top of the workpile for me.

I'm absolutely thrilled and I look forward to posting lots of pics when she's in my grubby paws !!

Yup, that's a beautiful bass !!

I've seen and played my Sei 7, but I couldn't take it home because of the problem with the covers !!

Thanks. Here's a couple more shots of it I took the same day. My flu is still pretty bad, but I managed to play it for 40 minutes last night. Wonderful bass. Can't wait to start recording with it. If only my main PC's motherboard hadn't melted last week the same day I caught my flu

D-tuner on just the C-string?

Yup- couldn't fit any more on there I'm interested in checking out a Sperzel D-thing, as they are smaller, but there's almost no info on them online.

Bass looks awesome. The way the back has been carved from the singlecut to the cutway looks real smooth.

I like how Rob does that as well on the e-volution models. A lot smoother than some other builders do with their singlecuts.

You must be jazzed about yours- a 400 mile drive though? Hope you drink lots of coffee

Bryan, the D-thing is smaller and lighter, but you'll have to dowel and redrill the peg holes for it because they require a smaller bore in the headstock. Not a big deal, and it will be almost 100% hidden once the tuner is on, but it does require a bit more work.

The D-tuner itself works well and is certainly smaller than the Hipshot, but requires more force to operate because the throw is smaller, and the adjustment range of how far you can go up/down is a bit smaller, as well.

They are nice, though! (Cheaper, too)

It's not too bad, in the UK as we have a 70mph speed limit on the motorways (highways). Usually takes around 6 hours, including breaks.

Can't wait to collect my Sei on Friday... Lots of pics when I get back next Wednesday

And thanks, Angus- don't think I'll want to go those extra steps. Maybe someday Hipshot will start making their up and over Xtenders again- never saw a pic of one, but from what I gather, the arm extended outward so it would bump into a nearby tuner when flipped.
