Custom Bass Wait Support Group Needed [Part 3]

Zircote has one of the most beautiful grain patterns imo. I ask Rob if I could use it as a fingerboard on the elrick im having built and he told me he does not recommend it :( ....so I went with macassar. Beautiful wood pieces spade

Thanks.

I've seen a few basses and maybe a few guitars over the years with ziricote for the fingerboard. Definitely not a lot of them. I wonder what his reasoning is. I'd assume it's relatively stiff and stable if it can be used for acoustics. Some have said it has a Brazilian rosewood vibe. My acoustic will be fairly blingy. Koa is always pretty, but tends to lose some deep low end and some highs.

Roscoe just posted a neat ziricote top on Facebook.

Just got these from Pete!

Added to the list:
A Chris Forshage fanned fret classical 7 string w/spruce top and Bazilian back and sides. Went with a spruce top instead of cedar since I can't keep nails on my right hand to save my life. Classical purists aren't happy about it, but since when do I care what others think?! ;)

This is an example of one he did earlier. I thought the low string could use a little more tension, hence the fan.

Also just ordered a Stambaugh semi-hollow guitar to basically be an ES335/Carvin SH575 on steroids.
