Zircote has one of the most beautiful grain patterns imo. I ask Rob if I could use it as a fingerboard on the elrick im having built and he told me he does not recommend it....so I went with macassar. Beautiful wood pieces spade

I've seen a few basses and maybe a few guitars over the years with ziricote for the fingerboard. Definitely not a lot of them. I wonder what his reasoning is. I'd assume it's relatively stiff and stable if it can be used for acoustics. Some have said it has a Brazilian rosewood vibe. My acoustic will be fairly blingy. Koa is always pretty, but tends to lose some deep low end and some highs.
