Custom Bass Wait Support Group Needed [Part 3]

Waiting on the Fender Hollow Twins in medium scale - which are in the finishing and final assembly stages by Keith Horne, who works with EchoPark and GuitarViol in L.A. - but is developing his own line and has created his own shop as well.

It's been roughly 10 months - not bad at all. Both are in a kind of Southwestern Native American motif with turquoise inlays, volume knobs and bridge highlights. The Jazz is called "Dreamcatcher" and I named the Precision after the name my father was going to use on a 1929 Ford Model A hot rod I restored - "Thunderchief" - with apologies to Tacoma:

My Fender Performer in medium scale, which I call the Fender "Transformer." A little over a year on this one. with help from Bruce Johnson on building the neck and the pickups. Bruce is also finishing up the custom Performer replica bridge and has finished the bridge block. Then, it's final assembly and we will be off and running. This one is just over a year:

Also have a Les Paul Florentine hollow body bass in the works in medium scale, which is on hold but will be started back up again shortly! Paul Reed Smith donated the top for this project. Then some surprises!

Special thanks to Keith and Bruce for their dedication and all of their incredible hard work!

Yup...I assumed this was going to be yours! I can't wait to see that one finished...amazing!!!

Yup, guilty as charged.
I can't help but plan another one now too, another single cut ACG, 6 string headless 31.5" in fretless to complement the ones that should arrive soon.
I think I have a problem.

P.S. I know I still owe you some samples of my ACG 5 string fretless, sorry it's taken so long, I'll hopefully have something for you soon!

Curious about the position of the pickups; you have the front one low and the back one high, is the on purpose, because all the P basses I've seen are the opposite.

I can't answer for dedpool, but the "reverse P" config is usually done to give more growl/punch/whatever-you-wanna-call-it to the B-E-A strings, and more depth to D and G. I have a reverse P that I usually use for modern rock because to my ears it has a more modern sound, but overall I prefer the standard P.

Got it, thanks.

Exactly. I'm personally not a fan of the standard P configuration and prefer the more even tonal response of the reversed P.

Placed an order for a custom Stratotone H48 fretless very similar to this one.

Hi. My name is Phil and I should've been in this thread a while ago. I didn't want to admit that I have a waiting problem, but I do...(actually, I guess it's more of an "ordering" problem, right? :D)

I don't have any pics of anything(the Helix and the Lull are in my avatar), but I've ordered:

-Two Valenti S24FJ5's
-Two LDS cab(15/6/1 & 15/6)
-Line 6 Helix
-64 Audio A3 In-Ear monitors

As of right now, I have the Helix and I have the 15/6/1. Don just started working on my 15/6, so it's gonna be a few weeks before I see it. The A3's I just ordered, so it's going to be a few weeks before I see them also. I've got a few months before the Valenti's show up, so I bought a used Mike Lull PJ5-24 to tide me over until they show up.

Waiting sucks...:(

Just bought a mini P-bass specifically to have it painted sea foam green and then I'm changing the pickguard to pearl along with matching block fret markers. Should be done in about two weeks.

Ok, these are cool! Where'd ya' get it from?

Edit: No worries, I found 'em! Too cool. I might try to pick one of these up...

Here's the finished product, excellently painted by Pat Wilkins, which only took about 2 weeks. I couldn't find matching pearloid pickguard and block fret markers, so for now I just put on the basic pearl fret markers I had. Played it today at rehearsal with my 30 person ukulele group, sounded really good.

Very interesting! How does it play? Can you compare it to anything?
