(I keep wondering if the 4th one to the right in that rack is mine...)

None of those are James Hetfield's though. He only has two (with an LP style being built).

Man Tom...you have away of picking out the exact same features in basses as I would! Congrats. That's BEAUTIFUL.

Thanks! I just noticed, though, that he does not have the thumbrest on it yet in those photos, so I don't know if that will throw it out of whack or bring it even more into line with what you normally go for. ;)

Just found out that Rob will be sending the thumbrest unattached, so I can place it where I want it. :)

Tom, you inspire me. Whenever my wife starts to complain about my gear harem, I just show her your pics, and that
pacifies her for a while.

Thanks for your addiction to great gear, I for one appreciate it tremendously.

By the way, I am jealous of very few people. You are on that very short list.

That mouse bass caused me to email Rob, and check into my next harem girl.

Happy to be of assistance! ;)

Regarding the Mouse, I have to say that in addition to the beauty of the instrument itself, and how nice they play and sound, dealing with Rob Allen, himself, is an absolute pleasure. He is very responsive to communication, thorough in his replies, and you can tell that he genuinely cares about each customer (and seems to have a personal relationship with each instrument). And talk about quick turnaround! After dealing with a certain other "overseas" custom luthier :ninja:, dealing with Rob is like visiting another planet! :hyper:

Tom.

Well boys,

I just put in the order for my second Hanewinckel...

Draken 4 string
swamp ash body black polyester finish w/matching headstock veneer on front
Gaboon Ebony fb with abalone blocks
3 piece bolt on flame maple neck w/flame maple veneer on back of headstock
18v Bart 3 band pre w/mid switch and Bart J1 p/ups in 70's position

Oh, when will it ever end? :help:

Just got a message from Matt @ FBB that my 7 is basically finished, he's installing the Audere Z pre & that's it! He sent me a cool updated pic with it all strung up but I can't post it here until I get it onto my web page.

It'll be available live and in-person at the NYC GTG on the 24th for anyone that interested ........

Tom.
Totally agree about Rob and...my Mb 2 will ship tomorrow ar monday, cannot wait!!!
But, given Mr. Allen fast building times, this is the least appropriate thread for his basses:D

Sweet! I want to see that picture ;)

Too bad you're on the exact opposite side of the US from me though...

Looks like I'm gonna be in this thread for a while yet. 4 months in and the guys at Sei are having problems finding the veneer material that I wanted (I specified something pink...).

I was quoted 8 months build time, but looks like it could be a little longer. Not too worry though, I've wanted a Sei for about 10 years anyway, so a couple more months won't make any difference !!
