Tombowlus, That looks fantastic. I have never played one of his basses, but I hear that they are great players.

Keith Roscoe makes all of mine, and I am going to try to get him to make one with that kind of burst. It is sweet.

Congrats on such a nice bass.

Thanks! Keith makes some very nice basses as well. :)

hmm, no volume knobs... 8 strings.... Guess Stew's bass is ready.

That is an amazing looking bass, I can't wait to hear it.
thanks, Jai!

just got home from Lodo and am in desperate need of sleep but I'll post a review on a different thread after I wake and get a bit of time putting the new bass through the new amp.

the made made a definite impression at Lodo, though!

:D

Alan at AC Guitars just sent me a photo of the finished neck:

I'm REALLY happy with the way it's turned out and especially how the fretboard is looking in contrast to the camphor burl.

He also tells me that we should have word on the pre-amp early next week! Stay tuned, it'll be interesting!!!

hey guys,

yep, I'm having Darrin make me a fretless 8. we've sketched out the basics and hammering out the final details as production nears.

wait's not really an issue for me. for me it's all about the relationship with the builder. there has only been one time I cancelled an order with a builder and that was when they hadn't started the instrument after 13 years.

the bass will be very cool and I'm more than happy to wait. it will be reminiscent of one of my favorite basses from the 80's.

more details to come...

:P

Stew, been away for a while but I wanted to let you know how happy I am that you're back in business with that Bee!!! It is one fantastic looking instrument, which I'm sure sounds as good as it looks in your hands. Hope Lado was a blast, I think I remember you saying it may be made available on DVD Let us know if/when that happens!!!!

Look forward to the coming basses, Not sure I've seen a big ERB from D.Huff!!!

thanks, man! I can't tell you how great it feels to have an instrument of my own and to be playing again!

I will absolutely let you know as soon as I know anything about the DVD.

and I am pretty sure this is the only ERB Darrin is going to make.

:bassist:

it's late and tomorrow's an early day so I'm outta here for the night but I can't thank you enough for the cool words, Todd.

as to the Bee, I posted a review of it on a thread entitled "My New Bee" should you be curious.

stay well and keep it deep,

Stew
