Custom single cut 5 str for Chris Clemente

yeah, yeah, it's taking long, but it's still on schedule!

I spent the weekend applying a few coats of finish. Here it is with shellac (about 4 coats) and polyurethane (about 2 coats right now). Still needs about 6-8 more coats of poly and 4-6 coats of lacquer. Oh, the little booth is working out wonderfully at keeping overspray low in the shop!

Chris' bass is ready. I'll try to post pics tomorrow, in the meantime here's a soundclip. I'm happy with the sound of the pickups and the bass overall. Still need to level a couple of high frets, but overall, it's done.

The first half of the clip is both pickups full, the second half is panned towards the MM all the way. It's in active mode, but all controls set to flat.

Here are pics of the finished product. Feel free to comment what you think, positive or otherwise!

That is really a great looking bass. You just upped yourself into a different league. I hope I can still ask for advice when you're in your beach house having your servants carve your headstocks:)

Seriously though! Great Job!!!!!!! I'd love to hear from the new owner once it's been taken through it's paces!
