CuteCube² Guitar - Play-in System for String Instruments

This sort of reminds me of the course of this thread...

I wonder if you have to play the music really loud during "treatment".

An added benefit if so.... Cranked music 24x7 for a week.
Nah, on a solid body bass it ain't loud. Put it in a room and close the door, you can hardly hear it. Like somebody listens to a tiny radio on low volume. With acoustic guitar it gets a little louder. Haven't tried it on a semi acoustic bass because I don't own one. Main thing, don't do the treatment under your bed :woot:

So basically if I live next to a highway where heavy trucks are passing by regularly it will have the same effect (which is no effect at all, but I'll play along).

UPDATE!

After 14 days of treatment.

Every note on the fretboard is right there with attack, fat punch, solid bottom and sweet sustain. The bass is way louder played unplugged now. The response is terrific, also it reacts to phrasing in a totally different way. I added a little jam at the end, no way I could have played this before without getting stuck. Couldn't help it, because the bass plays like crazy now. Remember the strings are 10 years old and the bass is set to fairly high action.

On Sir Duke riff it over key chord the presence of the bass is night and day without being dominant.

Here the two files for comparison.

That's it folks, hope anybody enjoyed the test :)

No way guys. You're missing it!

You stick this on one of your basses and leave it for two weeks... It may be hard to fill the time... but just practice, work on some licks/technique/general practice stuff.

Two weeks goes by, come back, and you are markedly improved! And you did nothing! Just sat around practicing chops... Gosh.. amazing what technology does.

It's a little like the old story "Stone Soup" or "Nail Broth" many of us read as kids. I like it. Wear this magic hat and practice like mad. The hat will magically improve your playing!

Don't know if I mentioned this before...didn't have time to go through 18 pages ;)

As the strings respond much quicker after treatment you can lower your action and get a fatter and more dynamic tone with no fret buzz striking the strings much softer. I realized that on all of my basses, lowered the action on all of them. Makes you play much faster with fat killer sound :smug:

"I'm sorry professor, I didn't have time to come to class, listen to lectures, read the texts, or complete the exercises. But this guy I met knows all about this subject, and he's a really cool dude, and helped me out. So here's my paper...I just know I'm gonna ace your class."

Hey, I read all your posts in this thread over the time...just wasn't sure if I mentioned that earlier ;)
