Everything work-related went fine. Watching the sun set over the Rockies at the moment. But very tired - got up at 5 a.m. ET which is 3 a.m. MT and I 'm feeling it now, even though it's not even 7:30 local time here.

Early to bed tonight, up and at 'em tomorrow. Last flight back to NYC tomorrow, will get back to Brooklyn about 1 a.m.

Looks like a lot of music coming up this weekend, though. :bassist:

I had been contemplating adding a midrange driver to my JBL cab for a while. The E140 does a great job at producing the lows that I absolutely love, but the mids are, well, a little weak. My biggest hangup about adding a midrange had been having to cut a hole in the cabinet. I removed the grill to see if there was adequate space to cut a hole for a driver..and to my very pleasant surprise I discovered that there was a 5.25" diameter hole that had a piece of plywood blocking it from the inside of the cab. Now I am on the hunt for a suitable closed-back driver.

DT- you must be feeling better to go thinking about cabinets :)
If it's a single driver now, you'll need to add a crossover. Otherwise you'll wipe out the mid driver in one note I believe.
The crossover makes all the difference in a well voiced cab. Maybe sell that one and get the one you like instead. I'd never want to discourage someone from tinkering, but you may be happier and save time and money getting the one you know you like rather than experimenting.

FWIW, the BagEnd single 15 with the coax driver is a natural sounding cabinet that can deliver plenty of mids. They can be had for a steal used.
