CWB 15: 15 minutes or bust!

The crossover makes all the difference in a well voiced cab. Maybe sell that one and get the one you like instead. I'd never want to discourage someone from tinkering, but you may be happier and save time and money getting the one you know you like rather than experimenting.

FWIW, the BagEnd single 15 with the coax driver is a natural sounding cabinet that can deliver plenty of mids. They can be had for a steal used.

Thanks Bag man. I try when I can, It's a thing in my head, the music never stops. Even when the lights are out, and it's all quiet. Sometimes I can change the song and sometimes they hit me at random.

I was trying to reflect the musical journey I was on a few days ago.

Sometimes it is nice to be inspired. Whether playing or sharing. I do like to share music I love. Thanks for listening to the links, I worked hard to find the best or most representative link of each that defined the song or somehow had the most mojo of all the versions.

I have to go, the IT outside crew showed up today for the new software upgrade. I lost my pace and didn't get caught up, leave and get home till 8:30 PM :rollno: Tired and well... you know.

Dealing with crossovers is cool but can be a bear when thinking about how you want your cab to sound. I don't have any clue as to what ones are good or how they will affect your sound.

Mid drivers are definitely smoother to my ear than tweeters so I'm interested to hear how it comes out.

A rare quiet night in CWB of late? I guess after burning the midnight oil for a while it has caught up on everyone. I was exhausted yesterday evening myself and was ready for bed about 10. Sleep happened quickly but did not last. I woke at about 2:30 and was awake for about an hour with a brain full of work related issues.

It was for me - after three weeks of construction, I now have two days left to finish cleaning the rest of the house before FM arrives. And then there's work. Ah yes - work. LOL.

Morning thumpketeers. I had a fun-filled night. Wife called me at 11:30 last night saying that the car was acting up and lots of warning lights were illuminated on the dash. Fortunately, she was only twenty minutes away when she called. We managed to get the car home, and today I am replacing her alternator.

@DerTeufel - Make sure you check out the starter as well. Starter and alternator problems go hand in hand. The starter will drain the battery and make it seem like the alternator is not doing its job.

@Tat and FM - raise some hell! :bassist:

I'm gonna hand in a software update later this week, and order my sleeping bag and tent. That'll put the finishing touches on what I need for the "big" stuff on my backpack. I'm SO ready for Maine. June can't come soon enough!

Glad she was close to home and you were able to get the car to the house safely. Too bad you mechanic types all live so far away from me. I could use a good mechanic. :D

Appreciate the advice, Lareamond, but when the battery voltage stays at 11VDC at high idle, with the lights on, the likelihood that the alternator is pretty high. I've already put the new alternator on, and the charging voltage, at idle, with the lights on, is at a rock-steady 14.5VDC. It doesn't get any better than that.

It was quite the adventure getting her home. I had to charge her battery up as much as I could via jumper cables, then followed her (after telling her to leave all the accessories off except for lights) as far as the car would go before the battery went below 11 volts. Fortunately, we only had to stop once..and we were only 3 miles from home when at that point.

We are almost a quarter of the way though #15.

I have some family stuff going on. My last surviving aunt and uncle on my mothers side are both in the hospital at the same time. He insn't expected to pull through, so we are spending most of our time at the hospital.

Tonight I'm headed to going record backup vocals and additional hand percussion for the CD. We should be sending it to master and press soon.

Tomorrow we'll head back to the hospital. (They are my god parents.)

Round and round I go with my tone. I decided to plug the SansAmp into the instrument input and set everything flat on the amp and the SansAmp. I then boosted the mids on the amp's eq just a bit. I am now abandoning the plan to add a midrange driver to the cab. I am now on the hunt for a better amp than what I have currently.
