Heh. Are we gonna have to play, bass, shoes, crackers, lick, slap?

Don't you mean, do we get to play :D

Okay, how does this go again?

Shoes kick bass
Bass gets slapped
Crackers beat everything
Until crackers get licked

That's how it went, right? We have to play this sober - I can never remember it after the drunk wears off. LOL.

It is a cool bass, by the way. You can try it once he is tied up or while he is recuperating... whichever happens first.

Mebbe both? While he's tied up I'll taunt him with it....and then play him to sleep. How would that be? Do you think he'll relax and just stop fighting or will I have to play really loud to drown out the yells?

hi all - in San Francisco for 24 hours on business, 3 of which hours I could wander around by myself. Love SF, crazy hills and cable cars, much good seafood and wine. Found myself some dinner right around here:

walked it off on that municipal pier; the sun didn't really allow the photo I wanted to take, but that's the Golden Gate:

and then this is just random, but I saw an old Studebaker, which you hardly see anymore, and I know there are some old car fans on here:

I'm on the red-eye tomorrow night back to the east coast; with any luck I will make it to our youngest's graduation from college, but the airline gods will have to be with me. Not much bass playing this week under the circumstances, but a lot coming up next week. :bassist:

Thanks a lot for the video post EasyJames. I love your special seating arrangement.

One thing you can count on, whether it was Pink Floyd or Roger Waters, is the incredible sound they put out. The Dark Side show I was at was absolutely dialed in 1/2 way through the first song. Every instrument crystal clear. It was like listening to an audiophile sound system dialed way up. Add in the spectacular show for the Wall and you must have experienced something very special.

Thanks again for the post.

Had my credit card out and phone in hand Tat when Mrs. SB reminded me I have 2 gigs this weekend. Oh well I guess I'll live vicariously through all you lucky people from CWB who get to take this in.

Enjoy the concert.

You've got time - show's not for a couple weeks yet. Plenty of time to get down here if you're the winning bidder.

Reminds of this Warren Zevon song (sung by his son Jordan in this link)

Good luck getting back in time!!! Thanks for posting pics! :D

Good luck on that red-eye. Thanks for sharing pics of your trip. SF is an awesome city. Hope you're having a great time.

Those dudes were awesome. Don't let the trawler pics put you off, I had a great day on Table Mountain and got awesome pics. The fish guys worked us really hard, but they had some really great people working there and everyone was great to us that we met. All in all, it was a wonderful experience, and I would do it again as long as I could skip the trawler part. Lol.

Probably spent a little too much time at Mitchell's drinking Old Wobblies. 11% that beer and goes down like a smooth cold lager. Saw a couple of bands at Freeman's and The Dubliner. Unfortunately, both bands, The Professors and Crimson, used laptop rhythm sections as opposed to bassists and drummers.

From what I gather, the pay scale was still a lot better there than around here.

I'm glad yo enjoyed Cape Town. I only found this thread because Marshall Music posted a picture and your email on their facebook page.

I don't know The Professors, but I went to school with the one guy from Crimson and had lessons with the other guy.

Just skimming your posts, you flew back to USA from Cape Town? I've flown CPT -> SF once, really took it out of me.
