Ok busy day, so I missed some of the first car talk... The car that got me started as a gearhead was a 64 1/4 mustang GT convertible, with the K code solid lifter Shelby engine, and the toploader 4 speed

my dad kept the car, thinking that I may want it someday. It is in the middle of a complete restoration right now

This is so cool. My son drove a friend's 65 K-code GT convert today. He said it isn't has fast as my 66 :smug: but just as much fun.

You will enjoy it.

hey all - about to drop into the chute of flying out to San Fran for a couple of days on biz, then the red-eye back for our youngest's graduation. Once that's done, though, next week I'm lining 'em up like bowling pins - practices Thursday, Saturday and Sunday with three different groups playing three different styles. Thursday night is something new, guys playing jazz-rock fusion originals and they want an upright. We'll see, but I'm psyched for it. Saturday is this blues project that's been lurking for a while, on the '51 P reissue, blues harp and mandolin. I think this group will be gigging by July and will have some staying power. Then Sunday with the VAs, coming off our EP release. Have bass, will travel and play. :bassist:

they are not fast, and they handle like bayliners... For years I have claimed that the only car I could experience oversteer and understeer, while navigating one corner, was a first generation mustang... Oh, and the early shelby brakes were so great.. aluminum piston in a cast caliper. At the first sign of a little moisture, the piston just froze (usually not releasing the brakes)

but still I grew up admiring this very mustang, so...

IF I needed it to go fast, I have a Panhandle Performance 347 hanging on a stand. I do not even know why I bought it.
