hey all ... busy week for me. Off to San Francisco on Thursday,

Hi everybody. Don't get out much but took the day off today and so decided to lurk a little. Went to San Francisco last Friday. Traffic was gawdawful but had free tickets to the Rodger Waters The Wall concert. Got to see all the backstage and such and had great seats on one of the projection towers (Wife's cousin is the guy who does all the video for the tour). Never seen any concert quite like it.

Hope everyone is doing well.

The trawler was pukeworthy.

I got up at 8AM Sat, plane left at midnight, arr Amsterdam 11:45 AM. Slept on a bench for 4 hrs. Plane to Boston for another 6, then a time difference of 6, 2 more home. I never, ever plan to make a trip that long again. I am still ******* beat. Got some decent pics, I'll get some up when I get them off the camera.

Spent some time with the guys at Marshall Music in downtown Capetown.. Got some pics in the bass section. I got one of those off. Those 2 guys, Matthew on the left and Zack on the right were both low end brothers. Very cool people.

More later. I have to muscle through all the work pics and separate them from the sightseeing stuff.

How rough was the ocean around the Cape?

I hated the flights to Okinawa..leave California, layover in Alaska, refuel in Guam, and then finally land at Kadena air base. Your flight doesn't sound any better. That four hour layover would have driven me insane.

We were about 100 sea miles south of the Cape. seas on Saturday the 12th and Sunday were 7 to 10 meters. Yeah, about 20 to 30 feet.

I only hit the head once, my co-workers face polished the ralpher about every 15 mins for 7 hours. Kept us awake all night. His ribs hurt for 3 days after. It was so rough that some of the crew were heaving as well. The cabin we were in was right next to the fish meal factory and you don't want to know what that smelled like. They sent some guy to swab the head out, but it didn't help much, then it smelled like industrial cleaner for 2 hours until the fish meal smell came back full strength.

This was our deluxe cabin accomodations for 4.

This is the other guy I went with, he didn't get sick at all, but he spends a lot of time boating on the FL west coast. We were in Constantia, a region noted for its vineyards, wildlife and primates that will attack and maul you.

Sounds damn nasty I hope you were well paid.

This first one sums it up pretty good. We were just in the lap of luxury.

Also, note in the second pic the prisitine condition of the vessel. And the mild atmospheric disturbance forming behind us.

The Jaws line came up pretty fast 'I think we need a bigger boat'.

Ok busy day, so I missed some of the first car talk... The car that got me started as a gearhead was a 64 1/4 mustang GT convertible, with the K code solid lifter Shelby engine, and the toploader 4 speed

my dad kept the car, thinking that I may want it someday. It is in the middle of a complete restoration right now

If I was a chick, I'd demand you marry me. :D

Cool - I"m going to see RW when he comes to Orlando. Can't wait.

We had our last practice before Saturday's "gig". The singer wanted to do another practice before Saturday and she got, "Not just no, but **** no" from me. We're ready, despite her reservations. I don't think she will be back after Saturday.

I took my son to RW's Dark Side of the Moon tour for his 30th birthday a few years ago. He was absolutely blown away by it and says it's the best concert he's ever seen.

You are always guaranteed to hear the absolute best sound at his concerts.

Enjoy your concert, I envy you.

Thank you - this will be my first live RW experience. And I'm doing it from the company box and taking along a bassist friend for company. :)
