Started puffing when I was about 14 at a friends tree house. Canadian brads are different. We smokes "Export A" which were the highest nicotine and tar brand out there. Eventually settled on "Player's Light". That was an on off gig at first but then smoked pretty regular through HS and until I was almost 20.
Then I met the future Mrs. G. She was allergic to tobacco smoke. She never asked me to quit but that was just the motivation i needed. I still smoked when I drank and when I was travelling on business (which was honestly only about 5days a year). I relapsed when I was around 23 but not for that long. The "smoking on the road trip" and occasional drunk-smoke continued into my 30's. it used to drive my boss nuts. He was an ex-smoker and he knew that with one puff he'd be rehooked. Me? I could turn it on or off.
Been a long time since ai smoked now and no desire to do so. More than 10 yearsvt a minimum. Can't even stand the smell of smoke anymore.
