CWB 20: Babes and Barbarians

If you get the chance thank her family for her organ donation from me. My father was on the list for a heart for so long that when we finally got a heart, the rest of his body failed and he never woke up from the surgery. Organ donation is SO important. Everyone should sign the card and be a donor if they can.

They kept her on machines until her daughter finished finals and could come back to say her goodbyes.
Knowing that she might help others was a great peace for the family. I'm so sorry your father did not make it through the surgery
That's why i encourage everyone to be a donor. My chances to donate are limited because i've done cancer treatment.
Visited and played music with an old friend today. We shared a band back in the 70's called "Willow Run"; drums (me), two lead guitars, bass and keys, four guys and a gal; five lead singers, great harmonies - did stuff like "Its Nature's Way" by Spirit, Lee Michaels, Traffic, Crosby Stills & Nash. Anyway, today we played James Taylor (Carolina On My Mind and Country Road - great Lee Sklar bass lines); Lowell George (Willin'), The Band (The Weight and The Night They Drove Old Dixie Down); NRPS (Friend of the Devil); Kathy Mattea (Coal Tattoo); Garcia & Hunter (Deal); Townes Van Zant (Pancho & Lefty); Merle Haggard (Mama Tried); The Byrds (Feel a Whole Lot Better); Elton John (County Comfort). Sounds like we have enough for a set...thinking about doing an "impromptu" sit in while some friends take a break in their gig at a local venue. Anyway, enjoyed the hell out of today and frankly I needed the therapy...
hah - in the Shoemakers (second band) currently doing The Weight, The Night They Drove Old Dixie Down, Friend of the Devil, and in the Vague Assurances - doing Mama Tried. Love Feel a Whole Lot Better and Townes Van Zant generally.

etoncrow, BSB, JaamE, Thor, BassGen, FM, MB, and Mike - for everyone going through something of their own right now, my thoughts and prayers are with you. Thank you all for being with me, as well. Your friendship and support mean a lot. I know this sounds morose, but I feel like I'm going back home to say goodbye this time. Although I wasn't originally planning it, I'm taking a bass and an amp on this trip with me. I think I'm going to need the therapy.
Why so down this morning, Tat? And, saying "goodby" to whom? Are you experiencing a premonition? We have other choices than despair.

Tat, I hope your dad pulls through. If he does not, however, I hope he goes quietly while surrounded by people that love him.

So, I took the Markbass head and my 210 to practice today. Awesome tone, just not enough volume. Turning the volume up resulted in the speakers farting out. Time to get another 210.

You guys are really awesome and I appreciate your friendship and support so much. Word so far is that we now have live cancer cells back in the blood. The leukemia is out of remission. I won't know until Wednesday just how serious. I'm leaving after work tomorrow to make the drive back home. My sister is coming in next week while I'm still up there. I can't change it so I have to deal with it. I can do this.

Also...January Florida visitors...I need your dates ASAP. I have some work travel bubbling for January and I don't want to miss you.
How tall is she? Wow, you could fit her in carry on and save a ticket.
My January trip my have been pushed back a bit. It's likely not going to happen in January at this time. I feel confident though that it will happen. I'll be traveling with "Honey's" oldest son.
