CWB: 23 TBD

Off to spend the day with my Mom at Remembrance Day services then to our local Vet's clubs. She's a Vet having served in WWII.

I'd like to send a very heartfelt thank you to all who have served in the Armed Forces. It is through their sacrifice we are able to have the freedom we have today.

I always like to stop by this fine thread first when I decide to log back in after like a year of absence. I had to go through many many chapters of this thread to find the current one! Cheers to you all for keeping this so alive!

How are all you ladies and gents doing?

No news on my end..other than the acquisition of a new bass.

I traded the 'Ray for it and am very happy with it so far.

PA, I was so busy scrambling around cooking that I didn't sit still for hardly any photos. Shame on me. I think I might have one from the Saturday night party we went to. Sadly, I didn't take pictures of the creatures I saw there. I'm pretty sure we saw the progeny of Frank Zappa and a My Little Pony/Apocalypse Pony. I think FM got his picture. Mine didn't come out.

PD - good to see you back dude. How goes it?

My weekend was interesting this weekend, to say the least. Stayed in Friday night because I just wasn't feeling like anything. Saturday night, made a last minute decision to go see WAR at a smaller venue down in Little Five Points (cool area of the city with lots of clubs and shops). Bought my ticket at 4, then dragged my backside out of the house to drive down. Doors at 7, so I figured get there about 6:40ish. Got there - got a VIP upgrade. Sweet way to start the night. VIP pass got me in the door early and it got me an invite to the meet and greet after the show. Yay me!

Show was awesome - 90 minute set - 12 songs - all hits. When you get to the photos, you can see the set list because I got one. ;) During the last song of the set - Low Rider - I got pulled up on stage to sing. Pretty freaking awesome! I'm still pinching myself. Bad news - I went alone, so I haven't got pictures of it on my phone. Good news - there was a camera/video crew there and they have photos they're sending me this week, so I'll post those when I have them in hand.

Bucket list
* play bass - check
* be a published author - check
* front a major band - check (even if it was just for a couple of minutes)

In deeper news, my house in Illinois escaped damage during today's tornadoes, but it was a pretty close call. There are some trees down, branches strewn about, and residual debris that was left just a few yards from the house and storage shed. About 1/2 mile away, several houses and barns are leveled, and a few miles away in a neighboring town, at least two people died from the same twister. One of my daughters and her family live there, and were at his parents house about 30 miles away when it all hit. Everyone in the family is safe though - and we're all counting blessings tonight.

Hope all of my CWB friends are okay in this seriously dangerous weather activity.

Things are going very well tat2d. :) thanks for asking! Life has taken so many unpredictable turns and I'm going along for the ride! All is going decently well! How are you??

Der: is that the Yamaha bb424x? I was Just looking at them yesterday. I know someone who has been playing for quite a while that picked up two of them for his tour. He gave it a pretty good review! Hope it continues to treat you well!

It's a BB425X. I definitely dig how it sounds and feels. The low B is killer IMO.

Tat the WAR show! What a sweet deal that is! Love the chat sheet photo too!

Also glad you family and property were OK!

Thanks!

full of awesomeness, Tat. Wonderful

Thank you!

That must have been so much fun!!

Definitely one of the highlights of my life.

Doing okay - keeping my head above water. I know a lot about life's twists and turns after this year. Glad you're doing well!

Tat, FWIW, back in the 70's we played every college and university in Georgia as well as most of the larger club venues. Five Points was my favorite place to hang in Atlanta when we had the occasional down time. Had not thought about that for a very long time. Thanks for rejuvenating my memories. Saw Delbert McClinton jamming with members of the Dixie Dregs and the Black Crows in a place after hours there one night. To tell you my state of mind, I thought "damn, look at all those folks on the stage!". Then I closed one eye and half of them magically went away.
