CWB: 24 Have Two-Four; Will Travel

Hi all Y'all. Merry Christmas. It sure does a heart good to see that everyone is alright, sometimes it's easy to get to worrying about folks and the state of the world and what not, but this is a beautiful time of the year and I'm glad Y'all are doing well.
Anyways, I'll get back to getting off the internet.
Just wanted to say, "Hi. Merry Christmas." and, of course, to be able to say, "Bye". :)

Ok, now I'm gettin. Bye

EasyJames, that made me smile. I'm really glad you shared it, so thank you. I hope the holiday season is treating you well. :)

Crow, Irish coffee sounds fantastic. I'm on cough syrup, though. Mix them, and things could get interesting. Before you know it, I'll be dancing around that fire in just and elf hat and some jingle bells slurring the words to every Christmas tune I can think of. :D

BassGen - As delightful as this time of year can be, it can also be incredibly stressful. And I've been known to suffer the occasional bout of hormone-induced insanity myself from time to time. Remember that apologies (even if you did nothing wrong) and offerings of chocolate, ice cream, and wine are your best defenses. And do not, under any circumstance, suggest to any woman suffering from PMS that you think PMS is the problem. Surest way I know to get something heavy thrown at your head. I do hope things settle down for you soon, though.

Merry Christmas, peeps. I had elf helpers yesterday and today in the cookie factory.

I hope that all of you had a great Christmas!

This was the first Christmas since Jackie's father passed. Her dad looooooved Christmas and the holidays had always been centered around him being a big kid, even more so the past couple of years when his health and mind were failing. I mean this in a good way, her dad was a great guy. They had a lot of traditions that took up all of the day at their big house in Richmond.

This year he is gone and her mom lives at an independent living facility here in Pittsburgh. We made Christmas and Christmas eve all about her and new traditions up here.

Christmas eve we took her to a nice restaurant for dinner, a candle light service, and then drove around looking at Christmas lights.

On Christmas day we brought her to our house. Jackie made a great brunch for the three of us and then we opened presents. Later we drove down to the festival of lights in Oglebay. (Wheeling, West Virginia)

We did everything we could to make it fun for her mom.

I want cookies!

I couldn't get the kids to help with the cooking, but my friend came and helped with the prepwork for my Solstice feast which was very nice.

Xmas Eve she came and used our kitchen to make peanut brittle and fudge for her family. So i got to help make that, even though i'm not allowed to stir once it gets thick.
My brother showed up with the turkey, already cooked at his house, and we just cut it up and nibbled from it on the counter as we did other stuff. We got part of the candies she made and she took the rest home... Xmas day my mom arrived with lunch/dinner all ready to eat and we just nibbled all afternoon. It was nice, but i sure was exhausted yesterday... my mom uses SO much of my energy.

Just signed up my registration for the 2014 Gerald Veasley Bass Boot Camp. Got 8 weeks to practice and an incentive!

I hope to meet more of you in the coming year! Looking forward to the BBC and the CWB GTG-East...

Joy and I wish all of you a safe, happy, healthy, and prosperous New Year !

I survived. Unfortunately it's because Zi woke up very early on NYE with an apparent bout of Norwalk virus. I'll spare the gruesome details. Spent the day intermittingly watching hockey or sleeping on the couch. Did manage a bit of Rye & Ginger in the evening along with a few nibbles. Still having chills. Definitely not back to normal yet. Might have overdone it with breakfast a bit.

Sorry to hear about your illness BG.

Had my first New Years Eve off in 5 years and the first time in 4 years my wife didn't have to get up at 4:00 am to work New Years Day.
Visited some friends early in the evening, went through a couple of road blocks, back home by 9:00. wife was in bed by 9:30, I said Happy New Years to my TV at midnight and was in bed by 12:30.

Sure missed playing a NYE gig though. Haven't had many off in the last 40 years (2 in the last 30 years), just felt like something was missing.

Wishing all our friends from CWB the best for 2014.

I hope that you are starting to feel better BG.

We survived new years, all is well in our world. I've been busy playing and practicing which are good things.

Today is it's own little anniversary. One year ago today I fell on ice and messed up my shoulder pretty bad. One year down the road it feels pretty good. It didn't seem to really heal until this fall. It struck me that it may be because I didn't have to pull the cord on the mower or weed wacker after that...

;)
