Saw Sun Dogs this morning when I was shoveling, and it was only -17C. No, I wasn't wearing a jacket :) Wonderful weather today, finally getting past this warm winter nonsense.

Cool. I'm outside of Chicago now and it's been years since I've seen Sundogs. Never in Chicago area anyway. I miss them actually.

Anyway, hope you didn't take the wrong conclusion from my post. If you're from Edmonton - clearly you know Winter. I'm just relating with you as "ice brothers" - not competing.

By the way, FM - these are the places where you find your vibrating men. Technically it's shivering but... Same difference! :bassist:

Outside of Chicago, where?

Lmao...mental note to self: Go to Edmonton in Canada to find vibrating men...:D

Lol. I grew up in Winnipeg which amazingly enough is actually just a touch colder than Edmonton (though in fairness they're pretty equal).

You don't know winter until you;

- Have experienced frozen tires - so you have to drive for a mile or so with a flat spot where the rubber was on the ground when you parked.

- You see "Sun Dogs". Whenever I try to explain what these are, people just think I'm on drugs (it looks like there's 3 suns in the sky! seriously!). Just google it and see for yourself. Happens when it gets to lower than -45

No wonder that the only thing I did as a teenager was drink and have sex! :D It wasn't all bad.

Yea, a couple days ago when the Sharks played the Jets, they were saying during the game that Winnipeg is the coldest city on earth with a population over 600,000. Quite an honor.

I went to the gym this morning, got my 5 string sorted, now I am waiting for my beer to chill. I'd watch football..but I have no interest in it. I'd rather herd cats than watch football.

I like the cold. I can still ride my motorcycle when it's cold.

sounds like you to not ride fast enough...LOL

I put a new front tire on my bike yesterday, and today it is overcast and cold.
I won't ride my hot rod bike in bad weather. It has traction problems enough when the roads are dry.

:eyebrow: on the first bit.

I need to get a better rear tire on my supermoto

In warm, dry weather, it's fine. Let the temperature drop, and it struggles to find traction. Add water to the mix (I LOVE riding in the rain) and it's all over the place. It does all that without pushing it.

lol...well, that's kind of like when you buy one of those, um, things, and they say, "For Novelty Purposes Only".... you know....a disclaimer just in case you do something phenomenally stupid and injure yourself, well, then you can't sue her. :p
I usually require a signed waiver, and keep a lawyer on retainer, just in case. :p

It was just a disclaimer 'til that one day. When the...um.....other participant um....got....um......well, nevermind. Let's just say that now there's a requirement that I show the safety video, get a signed waiver, put up the guard rails, bolt the handholds onto the headboard, and provide one of those harness thingies they use for the trampoline students. And spotters - I have to provide spotters.

Would this be cold enough to freeze a zombie, do you think? I'm wondering if that would be the answer...move everyone still alive to eyeball freezing temperatures...and the zombies would freeze...not to death, cuz their already dead...but, like really ugly lawn ornaments, just stuck in place until you disposed of them somehow.

I'll bet if they're frozen that solid, we could break them into pieces and then feed them into the wood-chipper. I wonder if there's a market for zombie mulch?

CWB Program Note

A few threads back someone posted pictures of Nikki Monninger of The Silverspun Pickups, who is *seriously* cute. I caught the tail end of an Unplugged episode featuring them on Palladia earlier today. If anyone thought she was a cute as I did, that episode is re-running again on Sat Jan 21 at 1:00 AM.

I'm setting my DVR. ! :bassist: :hyper:

EDIT - Heyyyyyyyyy, this post is my 5,555th. Cool! :D

That little skirt flip is dangerously close to my greatest fear of an elevated stage. If I wanted the world to know what color undies I was wearing, I'd wear them on the outside.

I saw part of that show on Palladia. Good show.

People tell you Sun Dogs don't exist? I've seen them - they're real. Cool looking, too, but not quite as good as the Northern Lights.
