Are you in Edmonton? The in laws live about six blocks from the West Ed Mall. Favorite place to eat is the High Level Diner.

Yeah, but not close to WEM. Never been to High Level Diner.

Would this be cold enough to freeze a zombie, do you think? I'm wondering if that would be the answer...move everyone still alive to eyeball freezing temperatures...and the zombies would freeze...not to death, cuz their already dead...but, like really ugly lawn ornaments, just stuck in place until you disposed of them somehow.

I'm sure it would freeze them, unless of course they became a zombie while bundled up for a harsh winter day. Though, you'd have to be willing to go outdoors and traumatize their brain before it warmed back up and thawed them.

Preferably with copious amounts of plastic explosive?

Off this afternoon to try out a used Peavey 410TX cab. Until I can move some gear to buy a Shuttle Max 9.2 I'm hoping to use this cab with a Bryston 4B & my X3 Live pedal.

I tried a new Peavey 410 at a local shop yesterday and with EQ set flat everytime a hit an open E string the cab got this horrible obnoxious rattle. Called the sales guy over and he was equally unimpressed. Not a loose grille but sure sounded like it.

Hopefully the one I'm checking out today does't have a similar issue. The spec's on these look pretty good and they seem to get a lot of love on TB.

Winter still hasn't really arrived in our area yet. Had 1/2" of snow last night and its already gone. Temperatures have been mostly +5C daytime to -5C at night. Reminds me why I turned down the opportunity to move the Edmonton area for work.

A few threads back someone posted pictures of Nikki Monninger of The Silverspun Pickups, who is *seriously* cute. I caught the tail end of an Unplugged episode featuring them on Palladia earlier today. If anyone thought she was a cute as I did, that episode is re-running again on Sat Jan 21 at 1:00 AM.

I'm setting my DVR. ! :bassist: :hyper:

EDIT - Heyyyyyyyyy, this post is my 5,555th. Cool! :D

Dang man, a Slurpee? In -54 weather? Now that is the definition of "one tough hombre!"

Lol. I grew up in Winnipeg which amazingly enough is actually just a touch colder than Edmonton (though in fairness they're pretty equal).

You don't know winter until you;

- Have experienced frozen tires - so you have to drive for a mile or so with a flat spot where the rubber was on the ground when you parked.

- You see "Sun Dogs". Whenever I try to explain what these are, people just think I'm on drugs (it looks like there's 3 suns in the sky! seriously!). Just google it and see for yourself. Happens when it gets to lower than -45

No wonder that the only thing I did as a teenager was drink and have sex! :D It wasn't all bad.

I saw Nikki a few weeks ago helping her dad put up Christmas lights. She grew up a block away from me.

I had a pair of Peavey 410's before I got my Mesa's. They were pretty good. I bought them used from a guy who had a full recording studio built in his garage. He had taken the Peavey logos off the grills. He said prior to that people told him that they didn't sound great but once he peeled the logos he started getting compliments on his sound. I only had them a few months and sold them because I scored a great deal on the first Mesa cab.

Winnipeg's also one of the hottest places in Canada, at least by record temperatures. Not sure how the average summer is there compared to Edmonton.

[DEL]You park on the ground in the winter? I usually park a couple inches above it.[/DEL] Misunderstood your sentence, thought you meant leaving part of your tires behind, but now I realize you mean having a deformed tire. It can be hard to notice that when the road is bumpy, though.

Saw Sun Dogs this morning when I was shoveling, and it was only -17C. No, I wasn't wearing a jacket :) Wonderful weather today, finally getting past this warm winter nonsense.

Plastic explosives would be if I was in a hurry to get them all before they defrosted, but if I had a while, I think I'd get them with a crossbow, out a window or something like that. Target practice. :p
Yeah, then when I got bored with the crossbow, I'd blow the sh!t outta them. ewww...:p
