Might have a gig set up for January. A golf buddy has friends whose daughter is fighting Leukemia. He's putting together an ensemble fundraiser show. Sounds like the band is up to it pending the actual date. I have some business travel in Jan.
I haven't slept more than three hours three nights in a row. (Tonight it was two.)

I've been waking after four hours. Might be a seasonal change thing. Worked out today, as I'm due in at work at 7 after a band camp session.
I have been waking up between 2:00am and 4:00am and turning like a pig on a spit until 6:00am when I get up for almost two years now. Think it might be an age thing so, yes drummer, it is getting freaking old...literally and figuratively
Same here. If I go to bed too early, I am screwed. Waking up at 2AM is horrible. I have to go to bed at midnight, get 4-4.5 hrs, catch the news at 4:30, and if I can catch 2 hours between 5:30 and 7:30 it's a blessing.
About 20 years ago I went through a period where I couldn't sleep for almost 6 weeks. It was awful. Total Psychotic Reaction (shameless 60's song reference).
BassGen, I have done benefits like that before, and they are a lot of fun. Actually, we played less than I thought, and as it turned out, we had to MC a bunch of raffles, door prizes, etc. There was also a dance troupe of young ladies that performed, so the band got plenty of free time. We probably put on 2 45 min sets max for a 4-5 hour event. We had a bunch of musicians loosely associated so we would plan an 'All Star Set" off the cuff to finish depending on who was around and wanted to sit in.
They were 'Pink' events, and I'd do another one anytime!
One of the funniest moments was being in the event room (this one was held in the hall of the local Elks lodge) and noticing the old man in the corner covering his ears with his hands while we were cranking out Cream's "I'm So Glad". Priceless. I wish I had a picture.
Total 'Get Offa My Lawn' moment.

Well the organizer has his own band and I think he's got 6 others signed up plus a DJ for set changes too.
I'm a little late on this, but here goes. 6 or 7 years ago I converted an old ratshack guitar cab I built in the 80's with some TB help into a 2x12 with Eminence Delta LF's. I have the link somewhere if any is interested in the Amps forum technobabble. The old cab was made of particle board, if I had it to do over again I would use a modern lighter material.
I own a SWR 4x10 and and old Acoustic 2x15 as well as this 2x12, so there is the spectrum from modern to old school.
I think the 12's offer the best compromise, a little tighter than the 15's, a little less wooly, but not at modernly focused as the cab with 10 inch drivers.
I picked up a 1x12 Aguilar GS112 locally from a guy that had 2 for sale. Great little cab. Light and easy to carry for a non-neo. I have used it at a few different venues, actually, come to think of it, the wedding size room at the Elks I used it alone with no PA support paired with an Eden WT-400 and it took everything I was giving. I'd really like to get rid of the SWR 4x10 and get a second one exactly like it. Use one for small to medium and 2 for big places.
BSB, dont mention the 2x10/1x15 pairing in the Amps forum, the Zombies will come out and you will think you are watching re-runs of Night of the Living Dead. Unless you like the whole Torches and Pitchforks scene and want a lecture on phase cancellation, off axis dispersion, filter combing, delay, etc. At least three people have jumped from bridges over these issues, I am told.

Oh.......I know! It's like the top of the list for TalkBass no-no's. Already gotten the lecture and skulked away.....
Actually, now that I have experience with it (the 115 is new to me), I can tell you there are plusses and minuses, at least in performance and tone, it's not all good and it's not all bad. It's more of a preference thing from what I can tell. Personally, I'm glad I did it, the experience has taught me that I'm likely, in the future, going to be on Team 15's versus Team 10's.
But so far I am satisfied and don't regret my pairing.
I'm like the Anti-TB posterchild. I don't like Fender basses, and prefer the 15's over the 10's.
