I’m excited to hear comparisons of the MBD-1 to the MBD-2 from those of you that own both. I’ve been contemplating a smaller board and the MBD-2 would be just the thing to aid in my downsizing, but I do not want to sacrifice the glorious tone of my MBD-1 to do it.

I’ve had mine since Monday.

Sounds exactly same, which is GREAT in my book. 20db switch is useful in the same way the high gain switch on a Hudson Broadcast is useful, if you are familiar with that. Probably more useful on a passive bass, my NG3 starts to hit a hard wall after 12-1 o’clock with it active, but I still appreciate the switch and the range of gain it brings.

The smaller size is a godsend for me and I can put my Mutron Phasor III back on my board, another 125b sized pedal.

As for the ‘exact’ comment above, yes, A-B’d with a version one, sold it on Tuesday for a nominal amount on reverb, the buyer was happy, a re-buy for him!

Cool, another video where those Bartolini pickups and the active preamp take over and make this awesome pedal sound like...well...every other pedal he demos.
It's super irritating that he doesn't use a passive bass so we can actually hear what the pedal sounds like.

I think it’s more the fact he uses a kickdrum mic, the AKG D112(although not as bady scooped as the Audix D6 I think). It’s why I put a larger transformer in my SM57 as a relatively inexpensive upgrade. Lots of midrange and now, bass as well.

MBD2 ordered last night. Will put my Aluminum MBD-1 in the classifieds soon. Smaller custom board coming soon and all my pedals (except the Noble) will be the same size.

Agreed. But he has no presence I've seen on TB, and over 6k subscribers. I'm sure he's not too upset about what gets said here.
