I bought all three. If I'm making the trip from Milwaukee for Kellen (not that it took much arm-twisting: I knew this was the finish I'd want when they were first advertised the other week), I might as well grab them all.

Finally had a chance to put it up against my OG MBD-1 yesterday at practice. You guys knocked it out of the park with this pedal. The MBD-1 and the MBD are similar sounding, but the MBD is different enough to justify a purchase of one and I highly recommend you do because it is killer. With the new MBD you get a bit more flexibility with the tilt EQ, contoured blend, and the ability to go heavier than the original with the boost. The pedal sits in the mix perfectly no matter where you have the controls.
I find the new MBD to be a big improvement over the original. Funny thing is it's all these small little tweaks that they made with the design that elevates it from a once scrappy upstart to a thing of refined beauty and brutality. My only complaint is the switches are very close together. I get that everyone wants smaller pedals, but I might have preferred the original MBD-1 enclosure. But that's a very small thing and it's not that big a deal.

I like it. I think it sounds a little more "stoney" than the older models. The boost is awesome too. Can't wait to play on it some more.
The BSRI Ashmaker was my first dirt pedal with a bost, and I’ve gotta say that I like that feature on the MBD.
I had a great time hanging out with @father of fires and @whoismarykelly at the Boutique Pedal Showcase yesterday. I was privileged to play some BSRI pedals (if anyone is looking for a chorus, the "Everything We Don't Know About The Ocean Floor" is pretty cool!) and even the iconic "Fixed; Not Fixed" switcher.
But I know what what you all want to see so let me present the MOSFET Bass Death:
Yes, you read that right. Unlike the standard black powercoat MOSFET Bass Distortion, the etched version is known as the MOSFET Bass Death. When Jeff first told me this, and that its full name is "MOSFET Bass Death Of The Universe," I thought he was joking. But nope, that's actually what he wrote on the box:

My home board is set so this is going on the gig board. I spent last night shooting it out with the DCX Bass. I concluded I love both pedals and don't have a preference at this point. They have different voices and some unique features (contoured blend + boost versus adaptive voicing), but both are excellent. What surprised me the most is how different the MBD's clipping voice is from the MDB-2's. I like the MBD much more. The MBD-2 could sound like IC clipping at higher gain, but I don't get that with the MBD. It stays MOSFET. I only played with it for an hour or so last night, though, so these are just first impressions.
Followup on my comment about the boost sounding flabby. Now almost positive it wasn't the pedal so much as my technique. I think it was picking up on overtones from not totally muting the other strings. A lot more sensitive in that respect than my previous setup.

We had a good time but we're a bit thrashed after poor sleep and yelling over crowds for two days. Met a lot of folks we hadn't met before and saw all the builder homies for the first time in a bit. Spent a little too much money on gear. Drank a lot of Malort.

I've never played a pedal that just... worked. You know that tone? That's what this pedal does: it fixes whatever you feed it from not that tone to that tone. I can see why Jeff and Dave are keeping it close. It's powerful. Maybe too powerful.
