Finally got the chance to A/B

1/3 = vintage/modern (to my ears at least).

There’s a distinct difference, partly on account of the nature of the breakup, mostly due to the difference in implementation of the blended signal.

I prefer the 1 for low to medium drive, as the low mids in the clean signal using the original low-passed blend retain fullness and provide some chewy/chunky body, especially with a jazz bass.

I prefer the 3 for the extremes…mainly clean tone-shaping with the merest fraction of grit to help provide definition in a mix (it’s nice for slap) and full-on drive, because there’s more clarity, polish and articulation in both scenarios with the contoured blend.

Both are great….and yeah, I’m not ashamed to admit I like silver.

Looking forward to the new arrivals.

Keep up the great work, lads.

Long build day with a lot of tacos coming up! Im really excited for this one. Wide gain range from transparent boost to heavy drive, powerful depth control to lay a strong foundation, and its priced right for folks looking for their first pedal ever, or just their first pedal this week. She's a real beauty too.
I have to say look forward to this… love my mbd1 but the aud pricing on the 3 put it into the “can’t quite justify”… tis what it is but hoping aud prices on the new pedal don’t end up too crazy :)
(And not a damnation problem… pretty much anything boutique jumping into the above 400aud range :( )
