I stack a fifth gear into the MBD. It sounds great!
I had a B3K as my main sound before my MBD, but I sold it as the pedal switch fell apart after 4 months. I then got my MBD as my main drive pedal. I use it for like 90% of our set, then 5% clean and 5% muff. So whatever low gritt pedal I get has to be good with both. The less pedal switching the better lol.
I may have to rip over to Sherwood in Kitchener and try one out then. They stock them in a few places in KW!
It’s great. But my fx10 is always on. I notice it when it’s not on that’s for sure. But my B7KU, rusty box and fx10 are always on. So it sounds great with it/them.
The Fifth Gear pairs real nice with the MBD-1. I’ve been thinking about buying one again at some point, but I’ve been beyond happy with my Rusty Box as my always on medium/low gain tone shaper.
Well now you guys are making me want a rusty box haha.

I’ve been thinking and wondering if the Loop Blender would help my current predicament- just picked up a solid aluminum bass and it seems like everything except my Rusty Box and MBD-1 react the way that a wet blanket would to my overall tone.
Makes me want use minimal effects, all the same, really love what I have and want to make things work.

I like the VMT into the MBD-1. The VMT is my almost always on pedal. That might work for you too?
