Just played my first gig with my originals band. Here's the pedal board I used and a song with a *gasp* bass solo! My OCD is killing me and I will eventually take off the Green Bass Machine (currently not in use). I don't want to waste the Dual Lock, just yet anyway.

I got my bass-modded Parallel Drive finished last night, and it sounds amazing! I added a three-way switch on the dirt side to select either LEDs, none, or silicon diodes. I really love the Rat-style circuit, and the clean low-end side makes it all the more useable. Excellent job Jeff! I'm going to have to pick up a MBD-1 and/or Bloop when funds allow.

My wife texted me to say that my MBD-1 was delivered and that she brought it inside. Meanwhile I'm stuck at my office for the next three hours. Hmmmm... cough cough... I think I'm getting sick... cough... cough... Might need to go home early... cough... 
Got home and dove into the MBD-1. Initial impressions are that it delivers what I’m after, which is basically a high gain sound mixed in at relatively low levels without sacrificing bottom end. Listening to it solo I must admit that I wasn’t terribly impressed, but it sat in a mix perfectly for my needs. It plays with my 3Leaf Octabvre in a curious way. The octave is in front of the MBD, and something about the way the octave sounds makes the MBD’s distortion very throaty and basically all midrange. It’s a very cool sound, although I’ll need to rethink how I typically cover the keyboard part in The Gap Band’s “You Dropped a Bomb On Me” on wedding/corporate band gigs
More testing to come, but I’m optimistic that this will work very well for my needs.
Addendum: There is a lot of magic to be found in the balance between the depth knob and the low passed clean blend. Unity gain and retention of low end even relative to the increased harmonic content from the distortion is fantastic. Possibly better than any pedal I’ve ever used. I found after a few pedals and combinations that true crossover type distortion isn’t for me, but the MBD is giving me the full range distortion characteristics that I like with the not full range clean blend benefits. Incredibly smart design @father of fires

I know when I first got mine, I eagerly plugged it in, started playing....I wasn't overwhelmed with awesomeness. I wasn't sure what to think about it. I thought it was too dark for my tastes. But then once I started messing with it and I learned what did what and how it was doing it, it pretty much blew me away. Then I got it in with a band and I was even way more impressed. I've never played a pedal like since or yet. To me it's one pedal that does live up to the hype and it's also one that delivers on many fronts.
The one and only thing I wish it had more of, controllable gain. You can get quite a bit of gain with the depth knob but at that point, for me, it's starts getting too wooly and unrefined. That could work really well for some though. But for me, the MBD is my all time fav go-to as of today. I've simply never played or heard a sweeter OD for my tastes and wants. Now that I have an EAE Longsword, I'm so set. Between the LS and MBD, I can almost just have those 2 and be happy. The boost side of the LS is friggen awesome. It's like the MBD is the OD, LS sans boost is my dist and the LS with added boost is a fuzz just about. Soooooo gggooooooooo.....drooldrooldrooldrooldrooldrooldrool
The more I experiment and use the MBD-1 the more I like it. There is a trim pot for the gain inside the pedal. So if you need more, or would like finer control when using lower gain, remove the back plate and try it out.
Mine is a different ver, I only have the bias trim in mine unfortunately.
I know when I too got my MBD I was super pumped, plugged it and was like 
. Jeff has said in the past that he designed the circuit in mind of high output basses like his G&L. I have an AVRI 58 P which is pretty low output. Took me a few tries but with the internal gain trip pot adjusted, the magic suddenly appeared.
