I thought it was bad luck to give your guit a mans name.. My short horn is called Lulubell.. In any case nice fiddle mate!

Never heard that before. I have male and female basses. Just how it works out. I have Dionne (a Warwick), Caitlyn (a MIM Jazz V converted to a six string), then I have Tony (refin Hofner Icon), Jimmy (MIM P-bass with flats that sounds like it was used on Electric Ladyland), then a lot of androgynous names like Russian, Dragon, Hedgehog, Grunt, and Pequeño... we're an equal opportunity bass-naming place over here.

My ‘63 Silvertone shorthorn is called a Dolphin-nose. I think it might be a 3412? My electronics (two knobs) work fine. It has no electronics cover so I could easily shoot you a pic if you’d like.

I have two knobs and a switch. Trying to figure out if my switch is really doing what it's supposed to do, and the tone knob (which is NOT the closest knob to the output jack) is more of a volume knob than a tone knob. Sure, send me a pic when you can.

Maybe the switch switches between different capacitors? If so, with the tone rolled off (on "high"), the switch would have no effect; with the tone all the way on (low), you would hear a difference between positions of the switch. I wired one of my Dano bases this way, with a tele switch, because I thought it would be interesting, but I didn't really think about how, in real life, I almost always play with the tone off. Someday I'm going to redo it some other way, when I get around to it.
